Tasks
- Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
- Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
- Schedule and co-ordinate work on sites
- Estimate costs and materials
- Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments

Responsibilities
Estimate labor and material costs, measure and work with wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials to construct foundations, floors, walls, and roofs. Install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware; coordinate site work; and maintain, repair, and renovate residential and other wooden structures.
Requirements
Requires a secondary school graduation certificate and 1 to less than 2 years of experience. Candidates should demonstrate judgment, reliability, and teamwork, and be able to handle heavy loads, work in physically demanding conditions and tight deadlines, and work with minimal supervision.
