Make a Difference in Your Community
Chalmers Community Services is seeking a compassionate, capable and community-minded Executive Director (ED) to lead our organization and help ensure that individuals and families in Guelph have access to food and support when they need it most.
This is an opportunity for an experienced leader who enjoys working with people, building community relationships and turning ideas into meaningful action. Working closely with staff and dedicated volunteers, and the Board of Directors, the ED provides strategic and day-to-day leadership while keeping the needs and dignity of our guests at the heart of everything we do.
What You’ll Do
- Provide leadership and direction in keeping with Chalmers Community Services’ mission, values and strategic priorities.
- Build strong relationships with donors, funders, community partners and other stakeholders.
- Oversee day-to-day operations, programs, staffing, volunteers and service delivery.
- Support, encourage and develop staff and foster a positive, respectful team environment.
- Lead fundraising activities, grant applications and donor development to support the organization’s sustainability.
- Oversee financial planning, budgeting and responsible use of organizational resources.
- Represent Chalmers Community Services in the community and advocate for those experiencing food insecurity.
- Work closely with the Board of Directors to develop and implement organizational goals and plans.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has relevant leadership, nonprofit, community service or management experience.
- Has experience with fundraising, grants, budgeting and/or nonprofit financial management.
- Is passionate about helping people and making a tangible difference in the community.
- Is an excellent communicator and relationship builder.
- Is organized, practical, collaborative and comfortable taking initiative.
- Can work effectively with a Board, staff and volunteers.
- Brings empathy, integrity, sound judgment and a genuine commitment to treating everyone with dignity and respect.
Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who cares deeply about people and wants their work to have a meaningful impact.
The Opportunity
This is a 30 hour per week position offering the opportunity to play a key leadership role in a well-established community organization. You’ll work alongside committed staff, volunteers and Board members who share a common goal: helping ensure that no one in our community has to face food insecurity alone.
If you have the experience, heart and leadership skills to make a difference, we’d love to hear from you.
