Mechanical Deployment Engineer
About the Role

Join Chef Jasper and help shape the future of food robotics. Your primary responsibility will be ensuring the successful mechanical operation and reliability of our robotic kitchens at customer sites.

This is a hands-on role combining mechanical design, troubleshooting, field deployment, repairs, and customer interaction. You’ll work closely with our robotics, software, and R&D teams to solve real-world problems, improve system reliability, and turn field experience into better products.

Our systems operate in production environments, so flexibility is important. Occasional early-morning or weekend support may be required when critical issues arise.

What You'll Do

  • Own the mechanical reliability of deployed robotic kitchens, troubleshooting issues and implementing solutions on-site.
  • Improve mechanical designs, CAD, and engineering drawings based on field experience.
  • Develop permanent fixes for recurring failures and improve reliability, manufacturability, assembly, and serviceability.
  • Retrofit deployed systems with upgrades and design improvements.
  • Support manufacturing, assembly, testing, installation, and commissioning.
  • Work closely with robotics, software, and electrical engineers to troubleshoot multidisciplinary problems.
  • Work with suppliers and manufacturing partners to improve components and designs.
  • Travel to customer sites for deployments, troubleshooting, repairs, and upgrades.

  • Who We're Looking For

You enjoy solving real-world problems and are comfortable moving between CAD, mechanical design, machinery, customers, and hands-on troubleshooting.

You are resourceful, curious, versatile, energetic, hands-on, a fast learner, and a direct communicator who takes ownership and gets things done.

    Required Qualifications

    • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
    • Strong CAD and mechanical design skills.
    • Practical knowledge of manufacturing, assembly, materials, and mechanical components.
    • Hands-on experience troubleshooting, modifying, and repairing mechanical or electromechanical systems.
    • Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills.
    • Strong communication and customer-facing skills.
    • Professional working proficiency in French and English.
    • Willingness to travel regularly to customer sites and occasionally provide early-morning or weekend support.

    Nice to Have

    • Experience with robotics, automation, or industrial machinery.
    • Experience with robotic arms, grippers, actuators, sensors, or other automation components.
    • Familiarity with DFM/DFA, prototyping, and manufacturing processes.
    • Experience with CNC machining, sheet metal, welding, or 3D printing.
    • Experience working with suppliers and manufacturing partners.
    • Previous customer service, technical support, or field engineering experience.
    • Experience with food-service or food-processing equipment.
    • Valid driver’s licence and access to a car for customer-site visits.

  • Why Chef Jasper?

Work on robotic systems deployed in real kitchens, solve engineering problems with immediate impact, and join a small team where you can contribute across mechanical design, manufacturing, robotics, deployment, and customer operations.

If you enjoy mechanical design, robotics, hands-on troubleshooting, customer interaction, and solving unpredictable real-world problems, we’d love to hear from you.

    Pourquoi choisir Chef Jasper?
