CHEK ABC is a Christian Home Education and On-Line school with students across BC. Our central office is located in beautiful Nelson.
Position Overview
This position includes in-person support in the community and group home (4 hours) plus SLP sessions (1 hour) for a total of 5 hours per week.
Rate per hour: $23 to $29

- Candidates willing to learn TouchChat are encouraged to apply.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with families and support teams.
- Ability to reliably attend and work at the student’s home-based and community learning locations.
- Attend SLP (Speech-Language Pathology) sessions with the student.
- Help a Grade 12 student communicate using TouchChat.
- Support the student in the community and group home by working on IEP goals.
- Support communication, independence, and participation in learning activities.

Responsibilities
Attend the student's speech-language pathology sessions and help a Grade 12 student communicate using TouchChat. Support the student in community and group-home settings by working toward IEP goals and encouraging communication, independence, and participation in learning activities.
Requirements
Candidates should have strong communication and interpersonal skills and be able to work independently and collaboratively with families and support teams. TouchChat experience is an asset, but candidates willing to learn it are encouraged to apply; reliable attendance at the student's home-based and community learning locations is required.
