Original job description

CHIMO: Where What You Do Matters for A Lifetime.

Includes some evenings and some Saturdays

Take a new program from paper to a place young adults love coming to.

Chimo's new Youth in Transition (YIT) Program is a hub for young adults aged 18 to 24 leaving government care: a weekly menu of drop-in sessions on everything from housing and money to healthy relationships, mental health and harm reduction, culture and careers, with food, a warm welcome and a help desk six days a week. Group programming opens in December, and we need someone to lead it.

What you'll do

  • Build the weekly session calendar and make sure every session happens, staffed by familiar faces
  • Supervise and coach a team of Program Facilitators, each with their own area of expertise
  • Bring in Elders, Knowledge Keepers, guest speakers and partners to make sessions rich and relevant
  • Keep the program on track, from attendance records and budgets to reporting

What you bring

  • A diploma or degree in Child and Youth Care, Social Work, or a related human services field
  • At least two years in the field, including planning and leading group programs for youth or young adults
  • Supervisory experience
  • Strong organization, and a plan B for when Saturday afternoon goes sideways

Good to know: You'll need a clear Intervention Record and Police Information (Vulnerable Sector) checks. We provide the training you'll need before you start working with young adults.

This role involves driving, so you'll need

  • to be at least 22 years of age.
  • A valid Class 5 driver’s license
  • to provide proven experience as a Driver (minimum 3 years driving and insurance history).
  • to provide current auto insurance with $2 million liability and business use coverage with no at-fault accident claims in the past 3 years.
  • to be eligibility for fleet insurance approval (driver's abstract must not have more than 2 convictions).

We believe in supporting the people who make a difference every day. As a member of our team, you'll enjoy:

  • Membership on a supportive team of skilled and passionate professionals dedicated to helping children, youth, and families reach their greatest potential.
  • Paid vacation starting at twelve (15) days per year.
  • Paid sick and wellness leave equivalent to eight (10) days per year.
  • Comprehensive health benefits following the successful completion of the 3-month probationary period.
  • Dental coverage after one (1) year of employment.
  • A Health Spending Account (HSA) to help cover eligible health-related expenses after the probationary period.
  • Access to our Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP), offering confidential counselling and wellness resources for employees and their immediate families.
  • Opportunities for ongoing professional development, training, and career growth.
  • Invitations to agency events, training and development, staff appreciation activities, celebrations.
  • A collaborative, inclusive, and values-driven workplace where your leadership and contributions make a meaningful impact every day.

Job opening remains until suitable applicant is found.
