Original job description
CHIMO: Where What You Do Matters for A Lifetime.
Lead a brand-new 1:1 service for young adults leaving care, from its very first week.
Chimo's new Youth in Transition (YIT) Program supports young adults aged 18 to 24 as they step into adulthood. Our 1:1 service offers up to 90 days of focused, practical support, and it opens in early November. We need a supervisor who can make good calls under pressure and help a team do its best work.
What you'll do
- Receive referrals from Transition to Adulthood Program coordinators and match each young adult with the right youth worker
- Supervise and coach a team of full-time and relief program coordinators, and be their go-to when things get hard
- Keep young adults safe and keep the service on track, from incident reporting to hours and budgets
- Work hand in hand with our group programming lead, so young adults in both services experience one program
What you bring
- A diploma or degree in Child and Youth Care, Social Work, or a related human services field
- At least two years' frontline experience with young people involved with child intervention
- Supervisory experience and sound judgment in a crisis
- Comfort with numbers, systems and deadlines
Good to know: You'll need a clear Intervention Record and Police Information (Vulnerable Sector) checks. We provide the training you'll need before you start working with young adults.
This role involves driving, so you'll need
- to be at least 22 years of age.
- A valid Class 5 driver’s license
- to provide proven experience as a Driver (minimum 3 years driving and insurance history).
- to provide current auto insurance with $2 million liability and business use coverage with no at-fault accident claims in the past 3 years.
- to be eligibility for fleet insurance approval (driver's abstract must not have more than 2 convictions).
We believe in supporting the people who make a difference every day. As a member of our team, you'll enjoy:
- Membership on a supportive team of skilled and passionate professionals dedicated to helping children, youth, and families reach their greatest potential.
- Paid vacation starting at twelve (15) days per year.
- Paid sick and wellness leave equivalent to eight (10) days per year.
- Comprehensive health benefits following the successful completion of the 3-month probationary period.
- Dental coverage after one (1) year of employment.
- A Health Spending Account (HSA) to help cover eligible health-related expenses after the probationary period.
- Access to our Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP), offering confidential counselling and wellness resources for employees and their immediate families.
- Opportunities for ongoing professional development, training, and career growth.
- Invitations to agency events, training and development, staff appreciation activities, celebrations.
- A collaborative, inclusive, and values-driven workplace where your leadership and contributions make a meaningful impact every day.
Job opening remains until suitable applicant is found.
