About this Role

As our client base grows, we're adding a Financial Planner to work alongside our Financial Advisor on the planning relationship our clients count on. Reporting to the Financial Advisor, you will meet directly with clients to build and maintain financial plans, covering retirement, tax, estate and insurance needs. You will also play a key role in onboarding new clients as the firm grows. You bring exceptional organizational skills, a sharp eye for detail, and the kind of judgment that lets you act with confidence and communicate with clarity. Flexible, adaptable, and genuinely invested in the outcomes of the people around you - that's who we're looking for.

This is a full-time, 37.5-hour-per-week position, Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, based entirely on-site at our Halifax office. Occasional early morning or evening meetings, by appointment, may be required to accommodate client schedules.

Responsibilities

Meet with clients to build, review and update financial plans covering retirement, tax, estate and insurance needs
Serve as the ongoing planning contact for an assigned group of clients
Support onboarding of new clients, including fact-finding, plan development and account setup
Work with the Operations team to ensure client instructions and account changes are carried out accurately
Prepare clear, well-documented plans and recommendations for client meetings
Maintain accurate client records and notes within the CRM
Collaborate with the Financial Advisors and team on client service initiatives and process improvements
Stay current on tax, estate and insurance planning developments relevant to clients

Qualifications:

CFP designation, or actively working toward completion
Minimum 3 years of experience in financial planning or advisory
Life insurance license (LLQP), or willingness to obtain one
Eligible for securities registration under CIRO, or currently registered
Comfortable working with retirement, tax, estate and insurance planning for individuals and families
Strong client-service orientation and financial mindset
Proven ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Advanced computer competency (MS Office, CRM software, database navigation)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, comfortable across in-person, phone and email
