Welcome to Chrysos - Where Innovation Meets Mining Excellence

Who we are ...

Here at Chrysos we combine science and software to create technology solutions that are changing the global mining industry; both from a productivity and environmental impact perspective. Just like atoms and machines, we believe that everyone is different and how individuals come together is what makes us successful. Chrysos Corporation’s diverse team of scientists, engineers and industry specialists are coming together to build technologies to provide rapid, accurate and safe ore analysis for the global mining industry.

The company’s flagship technology, PhotonAssay™, steps around centuries-old chemistry-based assay methods to deliver true ‘atom-counting’ analysis for the measurement of gold and other high-value metals.

What you will do:

In the role as Maintenance Specialist, you will be providing hands-on technical support service to ensure the smooth running of Chrysos Photon Assay equipment.

This permanent full-time role is based in Val D'Or, QC working a rotating roster.

Responsibilities and contribution

Scheduled monthly maintenance as well as responding to breakdowns on short notice to minimize downtime and maximize availability.
Technical support service for the installations via telephone, email and remote computer login for troubleshooting and performance checks during and out of office hours as agreed.
Liaising with support staff at Chrysos’ headquarters and our technology partner in China.
Training of the customer on the safe operation and maintenance of the equipment.
Spares inventory management for each installation site.
Complete maintenance and spares documentation and providing feedback to customers.
Assisting in the development and continual improvement of the processes associated with the maintenance and service of Photon Assay systems.
Assisting in the installation and commissioning of new installations.
Preparing fault records for statistics and reporting.
Assisting with Root Cause Analysis of faults (to improve reliability) and safety (to prevent incidents that could lead to injury or damage).
Supporting the development of a strong WHS culture.

Attributes and experience you can bring.

Demonstrated experience in maintaining technical equipment.
Safety mindset.
Strong customer service ethos and problem-solving skills.
Able and willing to travel and work within Canada and overseas,
Written and verbal communication skills, English & French.
Familiarity with the mining industry and mine-site operations.
Customer Service and Field Service experience in the mining or mineral sector (or related) processing industries.
Demonstrated experience in fault finding in electro-mechanical equipment.
Hands-on experience in one or more of the following areas: electrical wiring and safety, power distribution, mechanical maintenance, and repairs; basic electronics; metalworking; engineering drawing and design.
Experience in product development and the manufacturing sector.
Proficiency with office productivity software MS suite to include Outlook, Excel, Word,
Valid rights to work & Current Driver’s License.
College graduate with 2-3 years’ experience, with a diploma in mechatronics (electrical, electronic, mechanical) or a closely related technical discipline.
