We’re building a relationship-oriented bank for the modern world. We need talented, passionate professionals who are dedicated to doing what’s right for our clients.

What you'll be doing

As a member of a cross-functional squad, you will collaborate with Product Owners, Agile Coaches, and squad members to plan, prioritize, and deliver value aligned to client and business outcomes.

Reporting to the Chapter Lead, the Advice and Investing Platform Specialist is responsible for identifying and advancing opportunities to optimize the client experience for the Savings and Investing Advice team. In this role, you will leverage your platform and operational expertise to interpret client and market data, generate actionable insights, and model financial outcomes. You will recommend and deliver enhancements to the performance and capabilities of CIBC's planning and investing platforms. You will build strong relationships across the organization and use sound judgment, negotiation, and influencing skills to support alignment and drive results in a complex, agile, and fast-paced environment.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

How you’ll succeed

Platform development – Support end-to-end project implementation within a squad as a subject matter expert on CIBC Goal Planner (CGP), Investment Planning and Proposal Tool (IPPT), CIBC Investment Platform (CIP), and Imperial Investor Service. Provide guidance to technology and product teams and help resolve organizational, operational, and procedural challenges.
Product management – Apply strong knowledge of digital platform development, product management, client engagement, P&L management, client journeys, process improvement, and project delivery to support platform evolution and business outcomes.
Strategy & planning – Prepare forecasts, contribute to business strategies, and collaborate with internal product and channel partners to align business plans and delivery priorities.
Solution design – Develop client-focused outcomes that meet business requirements. Prepare and validate solution design documentation related to partner requirements, scope clarification, solution requirements, and quality assurance. Use Jira and Confluence to maintain transparency, support continuous improvement, and drive outcomes aligned to Crew, Domain, and Enterprise objectives.
Requirements management – Build strong working relationships with business partners to gather complex business requirements and facilitate solution design discussions. Write and refine user stories and acceptance criteria to ensure solutions are aligned to business needs.
Critical thinking and ambiguity – Navigate ambiguity and complexity, applying critical thinking and sound judgement to bring clarity to uncertain situations, solve problems, and translate opportunities into actionable outcomes.
Analysis & reporting – Analyze and interpret complex information, identify patterns and trends, and develop recommendations that respond to business priorities. Prepare and deliver reporting on platform performance and efficiency.
Competitive insights – Monitor the consumer, technology, and regulatory landscape and translate findings into insights and recommendations that support growth, experience and the continued evolution of our planning and investing platforms.
Relationship management – Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external partners, including control partners, lines of business, vendors, and other stakeholders, to support business objectives and delivery milestones.
Communication – Communicate complex information clearly and effectively to a range of stakeholders, using strong interpersonal skills and sound business judgment.

Who you are

You have experience in financial planning and an understanding of financial markets, including stocks, options, fixed income, and mutual funds. It’s an asset if you have financial and goal planning literacy.
You are proficient in Jira, Confluence, and agile work management tools.
Your influence makes a difference. You know that strong relationships and networks are essential to success, and you use your expertise to build alignment and drive outcomes.
You’re motivated by collective success. You believe teamwork turns good ideas into great ones, and you contribute to an inclusive environment where teams can do their best work.
You give meaning to data. You enjoy solving complex problems, drawing insights from information, and communicating those insights in a meaningful way.
You put our clients first. You act with purpose to find the right solutions and go the extra mile because it is the right thing to do.
You act like an owner. You take initiative, follow through on commitments, and deliver results.
You are committed to learning. You adapt to change and embrace continuous learning and improvement.
You live your values. You bring high standards, genuine care to your relationships, and want to grow with an employer that shares your values and brings out your best.

What CIBC Offers

At CIBC, your goals are a priority. We start with your strengths and ambitions as an employee and strive to create opportunities to tap into your potential. We aspire to give you a career, rather than just a paycheck.

Our spaces and technological toolkit will make it simple to bring together great minds to create innovative solutions that make a difference for our clients.
We cultivate a culture where you can express your ambition through initiatives like Purpose Day; a paid day off dedicated for you to use to invest in your growth and development.

*Subject to plan and program terms and conditions
