What you'll be doing

Corporate Banking is seeking a high-performing Associate to join a dynamic team supporting both Strategic Initiatives and Balance Sheet & Credit Portfolio Optimization. Reporting jointly to the Managing Director & Head, Strategic Initiatives and the Managing Director, Balance Sheet & Credit Portfolio Optimization, this role offers a unique opportunity to work on many of the business's most important growth, transformation and optimization initiatives. As an Associate, you'll help drive strategic projects, support execution of balance sheet optimization programs, develop management reporting and analytics, and work with senior leaders across Corporate Banking, Investment Banking, Treasury, Finance, Risk, Operations and Technology. This is an ideal role for a candidate who enjoys giving meaning to data, solving complex business problems, working across multiple stakeholders, and translating ideas into execution.

How you'll succeed

Strategic Initiatives - Support the development and execution of priority initiatives across Corporate Banking, including business transformation and operating model improvements, management reporting and performance management enhancements, AI and technology-enabled productivity initiatives, process redesign and automation opportunities, strategic growth and business development initiatives, and executive presentations, briefing notes and governance materials. You'll help move initiatives from concept to implementation, coordinating stakeholders, tracking progress and ensuring key priorities remain on track.

Balance Sheet & Credit Portfolio Optimization - Support the design and execution of strategies intended to improve capital efficiency, portfolio performance and balance sheet utilization, including loan distribution strategies, forward flow and risk-sharing arrangements, secondary loan sales, credit portfolio optimization initiatives, risk transfer solutions, private credit and institutional investor partnerships, and portfolio analytics and business case development. The role will involve evaluating opportunities, preparing analysis and supporting discussions with internal and external stakeholders.

Analytics & Decision Support - Perform financial, portfolio and strategic analysis, build management reports, dashboards and executive materials, develop business cases and recommendations for senior management, monitor initiative performance and track key outcomes, and synthesize large volumes of information into concise, actionable insights.

Project Management & Coordination - Coordinate work across Treasury, Finance, Risk, Legal, Operations and Technology, manage action plans, timelines, dependencies and deliverables, support working groups, steering committees and executive forums, and identify and escalate risks, issues and decision points.

Who you are

You have relevant experience. 2-5 years of experience in Corporate Banking, Investment Banking, Treasury, Capital Markets, Strategy, Management Consulting, or Corporate Finance. Experience in corporate lending, portfolio management or capital markets.

You have a Degree/Diploma in Business, Commerce, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or a related discipline. It's an asset if you have completed a credit training program, hold or are working toward a CFA, CPA, or MBA designation.

You give meaning to data. You can demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities and have demonstrated experience in advanced Excel, PowerPoint, financial analysis, and data analytics. Experience building and analyzing financial models, AI or business intelligence tools is also required.

You know that details matter. You have a strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering quality work in a fast-paced environment.

Your influence makes a difference. You have excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively build cross-functional relationships.
You act like an owner. You are highly self-motivated, proactive and accountable, particularly in ambiguous environments.
