Based in Toronto, the team brings together mergers and acquisitions and other financial advisory services with access to debt, equity and loan capital markets, as well as complex risk and hedging solutions. As an Associate, you’ll work closely with senior team members to support transaction execution, client relationship activities, and industry and company research that helps inform strategic decisions. This role offers significant learning opportunities and exposure to senior client executives and boards of directors, while giving you the opportunity to help shape outcomes for clients across a diverse set of industries.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. To successfully perform the work, you'll be on-site full-time.

The expected annualized base salary for this role is $135,000.

The base salary is determined by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s skills, experience, and job-related knowledge, as well as geographic location and specific business needs. Our compensation philosophy supports ongoing growth and development, enabling progression within the salary range as team members advance in their roles.

In addition to base pay, compensation for this role includes participation in an annual discretionary incentive or bonus program.

We are committed to providing fair, equitable, and competitive compensation opportunities for all employees and we encourage open conversations about compensation throughout the recruitment process.

  • Client materials and execution support - Prepare client presentations, pitch materials, and other deliverables in support of new business development and active mandates.
  • Financial modeling and valuation - Build, review, and audit sophisticated financial models, and perform valuation analyses including comparable company, precedent transaction, cash flow, and returns analysis.
  • Due diligence and transaction support - Assist with due diligence activities and support a variety of advisory and financing transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, and equity and debt financings.
  • Stakeholder collaboration - Partner with internal product groups and business partners across CIBC Capital Markets to coordinate ideas, support proposals, and deliver integrated solutions for clients.
  • Relationship management and team support - Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships, contribute to client-focused and deal-focused discussions, and help keep group materials and databases current.
