This team is responsible for executing compliance examinations across various Lines of Business (LOBs), with the objective of independently assessing the design and operating effectiveness of management’s control environment and adherence to regulatory requirements, such as those outlined in the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Act (PCMLTFA) and its associated Regulations (PCMLTFR). As the Manager, EAML Examinations, reporting to the Director, EAML Examinations, you will be responsible for conducting compliance testing of CIBC businesses and activities in accordance with the CEEP methodology. Your role will ensure adherence to CIBC’s Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorist Financing, and Sanctions Policy requirements, associated standards and guidelines, relevant sections of applicable laws and regulations, and any directives issued by FINTRAC or other regulatory bodies. The Manager, EAML Examinations will possess a strong understanding of regulatory requirements, as well as knowledge of CIBC’s lines of business, Governance Groups, and Oversight Functions.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You will have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

How you'll succeed

Execute AML/ATF and Sanctions Examinations - Plan and conduct examinations to evaluate the effectiveness of processes, controls and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Communication and interpersonal skills - Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication abilities. Effectively engage with various lines of business regarding AML/ATF and Sanctions requirements and communicate examination results clearly.
Relationship Building - Establish and maintain positive working relationships with LOBs, Advisory partners, Internal Audit, and other Governance partners during examinations. You understand the importance of building and maintaining relationships for success. You inspire outcomes by making your voice heard and constructively challenging the status quo. You excel when empowered to lead, take initiative, and deliver results.
Reporting - Prepare and submit comprehensive reports to the LOB examined, detailing findings, ratings, and recommended remedial actions to address identified issues.

Who you are
