What you'll be doing

As a Senior Product Designer in the Everyday Banking domain, you'll design experiences that help clients manage their banking needs and enable frontline employees to support them effectively. Your work will span digital platforms for clients, as well as the tools and workflows used by frontline teams. You'll lead design across projects at different stages, from open-ended problems that require research, discovery, and clear experience direction to initiatives that need detailed designs, testing, and close collaboration with delivery teams. You'll consider how the client journey moves between digital services and frontline support to create connected, intuitive experiences. In this role, you'll help shape thoughtful, inclusive, and practical design solutions that improve experiences for both clients and employees.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You'll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you'll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

How you'll succeed

Lead end-to-end design - Lead design from discovery through delivery by framing problems, identifying user needs, exploring concepts, and translating the chosen direction into clear, usable designs. Create journey maps, service flows, wireframes, prototypes, detailed screens, and design specifications as needed.
Design connected experiences - Consider the full journey across client and frontline platforms, including what clients can do independently, what employees need to provide support, and where guidance or handoffs are required.
Use evidence to inform decisions - Partner with researchers and stakeholders to plan and interpret interviews, usability testing, analytics, and other feedback. Apply insights to refine designs and clearly communicate your recommendations.
Collaborate with delivery teams - Work closely with product managers, content designers, researchers, developers, business analysts, and other designers. Clarify interactions and requirements, respond to implementation questions, and adapt designs as teams learn.
Build alignment and drive clarity - Facilitate workshops and design discussions, present work to stakeholders, and make trade-offs clear. Bring structure to ambiguous problems and help teams move toward informed decisions.
Elevate design quality - Apply design system patterns, accessibility standards, and inclusive design principles. Contribute new patterns or enhancements when existing guidance doesn't fully meet user or business needs.

Who you are

You have relevant experience. You bring 8+ years of experience designing digital products, and your portfolio demonstrates your contribution to both early exploration and delivered experiences. Experience designing for complex services or regulated environments is an asset.
You give meaning to data. You understand user research and know how to translate findings, data, and stakeholder input into practical design decisions that improve the user experience.
You're digitally savvy. You're proficient in Figma and prototyping, and you have experience designing for web and mobile platforms. You understand inclusive design and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) accessibility standards.
You act like an owner. You can work independently, manage multiple priorities, and maintain momentum when requirements or direction change. You take accountability for moving work forward and delivering high-quality outcomes.
You're motivated by collective success. You communicate clearly, explain the reasoning behind your work, listen to different perspectives, and build trusted partnerships with colleagues and stakeholders.
