What you'll be doing
As part of CIBC’s team, you’ll support business change initiatives through thoughtful analysis, stakeholder engagement, and clear documentation of business needs. As a Senior Consultant, Business Systems Analysis, you’ll work closely with business partners to understand current-state challenges, identify gaps and opportunities, and define business requirements that support project and operational objectives. You’ll prepare clear, effective business documentation, facilitate discussions across stakeholder groups, and help ensure business objectives, scope, and requirements are well understood and aligned. You’ll provide expertise to project managers, coordinators, and directors by applying strong business analysis practices, business process knowledge, and sound judgment. In this role, you’ll primarily support the Rates desk, with opportunities to contribute across other asset classes in a cross-asset risk management environment. You’ll independently navigate ambiguous challenges with organization-wide impact using structured analysis, critical thinking, and strong communication skills.
At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. Details on your work arrangement (proportion of on-site and remote work) will be discussed at the time of your interview.
How you'll succeed
- Business requirements analysis - Elicit, analyze, document, and validate complex business requirements by working closely with business partners to understand priorities, impacts, scope, and objectives.
- Documentation excellence - Prepare high-quality business requirements documents, process flows, scope documentation, gap analyses, and impact assessments that support project teams and stakeholders throughout the initiative lifecycle.
- Process improvement - Analyze current-state and future-state business processes to identify gaps, dependencies, risks, and opportunities for improvement, helping ensure initiatives align with business objectives.
- Stakeholder engagement - Facilitate workshops, requirements review sessions, and cross-functional discussions to build shared understanding and support well-informed decision-making.
- Delivery support - Maintain requirements traceability, support change management as business needs evolve, and collaborate with project teams and business stakeholders to keep requirements clear and actionable.
- Leadership and mentorship - Act as a senior business analysis professional by guiding stakeholders through requirements-related activities and mentoring team members on business analysis practices and approaches.
Who you are
- You can demonstrate relevant experience. You have 3-4+ years of experience in a Business Systems Analysis or Business Analysis role, with a strong focus on requirements elicitation, business process analysis, stakeholder engagement, and business requirements documentation.
- You know how to turn business needs into clear documentation. You can prepare well-structured business requirements, business process documentation, scope documents, and gap analyses that support clear decision-making and delivery.
- You’re a strong communicator. You have the ability to facilitate discussions across multiple business groups, build relationships with stakeholders, and communicate complex information in a clear and meaningful way.
- You give meaning to data. You enjoy investigating complex problems, interpreting business information, and identifying process gaps, impacts, and opportunities for improvement.
- You can demonstrate experience in Excel, Visio, Microsoft Office applications, and business analysis documentation practices. It’s an asset if you have at least 2 years of Confluence and Jira experience while working in an Agile environment.
