What You’ll Be Doing
As a member of CIBC’s Enterprise Services Engineering team, you’ll play a key role in shaping and supporting our enterprise scheduling capabilities. As an Enterprise Scheduling Engineer, you’ll provide technical leadership, standards, and best practices to technology teams through the design, build, configuration, implementation, and maintenance phases of initiatives and projects involving enterprise scheduling tools. You’ll also provide level 3 support to resolve technology-related incidents and help ensure the stability and performance of critical scheduling services. In this role, you’ll help define hardware and software standards, contribute to roadmaps, and recommend scalable, secure solutions for enterprise-wide initiatives based on your area of expertise. You’ll work closely with partners across technology and the business to deliver practical solutions that support both current needs and future priorities.
At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. Details on your work arrangement (proportion of on-site and remote work) will be discussed at the time of your interview.
How You’ll Succeed
- Leadership and Communication - Collaborate with senior leaders and technology partners across the organization to provide informed recommendations that enhance enterprise scheduling solutions. Balance business needs, technology capabilities, and security considerations to recommend practical, achievable improvements to the user experience.
- Governance and Advisory - Contribute to governance initiatives, including the development of policies, standards, and audit requirements. Provide technical and business guidance to partners within your department and across the organization.
- Engineering and Implementation - Lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of new and emerging tools, products, and techniques related to enterprise scheduling. Support business and technology proposals by assessing options and estimating implementation effort and costs.
- Operational Support - Provide advanced support for enterprise scheduling technologies, including incident resolution, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement activities to strengthen service reliability and performance.
Who You Are
- You have relevant technical experience. You bring demonstrated experience in the design, implementation, and support of enterprise scheduling technologies and technology-based solutions, including AutoSys and similar enterprise workload automation or scheduling platforms from other vendors. You also have strong experience with ServiceNow, Ansible, Python, shell scripting, and Linux operating systems.
- You understand infrastructure and technology standards. You have strong knowledge of information technology standards, policies, and procedures, and know how to apply organizational practices appropriately across a range of situations and initiatives.
- You’re a strategic problem solver. You stay informed on industry developments, trends, and best practices, and use that knowledge to recommend thoughtful, scalable solutions. Experience with Azure or working in an Agile environment is considered an asset.
- You act like an owner. You’re energized by accountability and take initiative to lead work forward, solve problems, and deliver strong results.
- You’re digitally savvy. You embrace innovation, adapt quickly to new tools and technologies, and look for opportunities to improve how work gets done.
