Original job description

Location: Markham, Ontario, Canada

Position: Senior Software Developer - Full Stack Web Application Development

CIeNET is a mobile, automotive, telecom and enterprise software services and solutions research, engineering and development company founded in the U.S. in the year 2000. We currently have over 2,000 employees worldwide, supporting customers in North America, Asia and Europe. We have over ten locations across US, Canada, Mainland China and Taiwan. CIeNET has been named Global Outsourcing 100 in sixteen consecutive years. CIeNET became an ALTEN Group company in 2021.

CIeNET is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Developer to design, develop, and enhance a suite of business web applications. In this role, you will collaborate closely with customer stakeholders, product owners, and cross-functional engineering teams to clarify business requirements, define technical solutions, and deliver scalable, high-quality enterprise applications that improve operational efficiency and user experience.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on software engineer with strong systems thinking, excellent communication skills, and the ability to own features end-to-end - from concept through production - while working effectively across both business and engineering teams.

CIeNET Canada welcomes skilled, dedicated, innovative, and motivated professionals to join our team and build a promising career with us.

Role Summary

In this role, the individual will collaborate closely with the client in the US and our engineering team in Taipei to develop, integrate, and deploy the next-generation People Management Applications.

Modernize and enhance existing applications while maintaining legacy systems where appropriate
Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and improve system reliability and performance
Participate in system design, architecture reviews, and code reviews to ensure scalable and maintainable solutions
Continuously improve engineering practices, software quality, and development efficiency
Take ownership of features throughout the software development lifecycle, from design to production support

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Spring Boot or similar Java frameworks
Experience with asynchronous processing, job scheduling, or workflow orchestration

Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills across application, database, and integration layers
Self-motivated, a quick-learner and reliably deliver on time in a fast-paced work environment
Excellent verbal and written communication, collaboration, and ownership with the ability to work independently
