We are a firm 100% owned by its employees and we value a collaborative and entrepreneurial mindset. You will have the flexibility to manage your work on your own terms and define what work-life balance means to you.

When you join CIMA+, we welcome you to a place that you can call home.

Job Description

CIMA+’s Earth and Environment team have adopted sustainability as a core value and prioritize the environmental, social, and economic benefits of every project. Our engineers and certified technicians have the detailed knowledge of local conditions to provide the full range of environmental services for clients in both the public and private sectors. We have the skills to execute complex environmental projects, but we also integrate green solutions into every infrastructure, building, transportation, and energy project we undertake. Join us and immerse yourself in a dynamic, innovative, and collaborative environment where you’ll make a real impact. Together, we’ll push boundaries and go above what’s expected of us to meet the challenges of tomorrow and engineer a better world!

CIMA+’s Geotechnical Department is looking for a Geotechnical Project Manager for its Montreal office. When you join our team, you’ll be working in a multidisciplinary group comprising geotechnical and geological engineers, as well as environmental specialists.

Your expertise in soil mechanics will enable you to contribute to a variety of challenging projects, including the design, rehabilitation or construction of buildings, engineering structures, hydraulic structures, earthworks, slope stability, roads, temporary and permanent retaining structures, deep and conventional foundations, and much more.

We offer a flexible hybrid work mode, allowing you to work from home and from one of our offices.

Primary Responsibilities

Carry out and supervise complete geotechnical studies, from planning to report writing, including soundings, drillings, laboratory tests and design recommendations
Inspect, assess safety and upgrade earth dams
Coordinate studies, engineering and field work, as well as relations with subcontractors and suppliers
Prepare technical documents, such as bids for interdepartmental or public tenders, as well as plans and specifications for earthworks, slope stabilization and bank protection, with the support of experienced draftsmen.
Supervise, train and guide young engineers, CPIs or trainees, while playing an active role in team development

Qualifications

University degree in civil or geological engineering with specialization in geotechnics
Minimum five (5) years’ experience in geotechnical engineering
Membre of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)
Experience or Master’s degree in hydrogeology or rock mechanics or soil dynamics or permafrost (an asset)
Knowledge of specialized geotechnical software
Excellent communication skills in French and English, both written and spoken. English is required due to the need to regularly interact with CIMA+ stakeholders across Canada
Excellent communication and client relationship management skills
Project management skills to ensure compliance with budgets, established deadlines and administrative monitoring of files
Integrity, team spirit, and a commitment to excellence

At CIMA+, we value diversity of talent and perspective. You think you can add value, but don't meet all the job requirements? We invite you to apply, because everyone has something unique to offer. The outstanding talents that choose to join us at CIMA+ soon realize that we go all out to encourage them to grow. We look forward to hearing how you can contribute to our success.

Why choose CIMA+? Because we offer you:

Comprehensive Group Benefits available from day one for all permanent employees working at least 20 hours per week
Employee and Family Assistance Program
Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) with up to 4% employer contribution
As an employee-owned company, an annual opportunity to purchase shares for all employees
