Job Description

CIMA+’s Infrastructure team combines top-notch skills with an intimate understanding of the local community to deliver customized infrastructure services for municipalities and real-estate developers. We have delivered hundreds of projects across Canada, including innovative solutions for the full spectrum of water and wastewater assets, on time and on budget. We support clients from start to finish, whether for building brand new or assessing, repairing, and expanding on existing infrastructure. Join us and immerse yourself in a dynamic, innovative, and collaborative environment where you’ll make a real impact. Together, we’ll push boundaries and go above what’s expected of us to meet the challenges of tomorrow and engineer a better world!

We are looking for a Senior Director, Wastewater, to lead the growth and delivery of our municipal wastewater practice across British Columbia. This leadership role combines strategic business development, client engagement, technical oversight, and team leadership to support the successful execution of complex wastewater, and municipal infrastructure projects. As a senior technical advisor, you will help shape project solutions, mentor staff, and contribute to the continued growth and success of our Infrastructure sector. The role will be based out of our Vancouver office, in a hybrid model.

The opportunity to be an Associate Partner will be available for the right candidate.

Primary Responsibilities

Provide strategic leadership and design direction on major wastewater and municipal infrastructure projects.
Lead multidisciplinary teams through all phases of project delivery, including environmental assessments, planning, approvals, conceptual design, preliminary design, detailed design, construction, and commissioning.
Direct the planning and execution of wastewater treatment facilities, sewage collection systems, and sewage pumping stations.
Oversee project coordination, resource allocation, budget management, risk assessment, and quality assurance to ensure successful project outcomes.
Act as a trusted advisor to municipal clients, regulatory agencies, stakeholders, and project partners throughout project development and implementation.
Lead business development activities, including client relationship management, strategic account growth, proposal development, and project pursuits.
Identify emerging market opportunities and contribute to the growth and strategic direction of the Water sector.
Provide technical oversight and guidance to project managers, engineers, and technical staff while fostering professional development and mentorship across the team.
Collaborate with leaders across multiple disciplines to deliver integrated and innovative infrastructure solutions.
Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and professional associations to strengthen market presence and client relationships.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, or related Engineering discipline.
Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in British Columbia.
Minimum 15 years of progressively responsible experience in municipal wastewater consulting, engineering, and project leadership.
Demonstrated experience leading significant wastewater, and municipal infrastructure projects from planning through construction.
Strong expertise in wastewater treatment, sewage collection systems, pumping stations, and municipal infrastructure planning.
Proven success in managing client relationships, developing new business opportunities, and leading multidisciplinary project teams.
Thorough understanding of environmental assessment processes, regulatory approvals, municipal standards, and infrastructure delivery frameworks.
Exceptional leadership, communication, stakeholder engagement, and team development skills.
Established network of municipal client relationships within British Columbia, particularly within the Vancouver area, is considered a strong asset.
Integrity, team spirit, and a commitment to excellence.
