Sedgman is looking for an intermediate Civil Designer to join our team in the Montreal, QC office. The ideal candidate will have experience in creating 2D and 3D technical drawings and models for infrastructure projects like roads, bridges, and utilities for the mining industry, using software such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

They collaborate with engineers to develop site layouts, grading plans, and stormwater management systems while ensuring compliance with regulations. They will work closely with multi-disciplinary teams (mechanical, structural and electrical) on EPCM projects, and will be involved in the entire design process.

Produce detailed design drawings, layouts, and profiles for different types of :
- roads
- underground services (like fire protection systems, sanitary sewer systems, storm sewer systems, etc.)
- ponds and basins
- water conduits (like open channels and pipe conduits)
Possess some knowledge of soil mechanics and hydraulics
Perform calculations for grading, earthwork volumes, and stormwater management systems.
Work with Project Managers, engineers, and surveyors to ensure design accuracy.
Ensure designs comply with local codes, regulations and industry standards.
Interpret survey data, geotechnical soil reports, and field information to inform design.
Prepare technical reports, construction plans, and site specifications.
Understand Sedgman standard specifications and typical/standard drawings to reflect current industry standards
