Position Summary

The Business Development Executive will collaborate with the Sales Team to create and close opportunities within existing accounts and net-new manufacturing organizations. This role supports customers in achieving measurable business outcomes by leveraging CIMSOFT's portfolio of AVEVA, Braincube, AMDT, and professional services.

CIMSOFT has an established presence within the Canadian manufacturing market, with many of the region's largest Food & Beverage, Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), Pharmaceutical, Pulp and Paper, and Wood Products manufacturers already working with CIMSOFT. The Business Development Executive will build on this market position by developing existing client relationships while identifying and pursuing new opportunities across the assigned territory.

The successful candidate will lead consultative conversations focused on customer challenges, desired outcomes, and measurable business value rather than technology alone. This includes understanding operational priorities such as productivity, throughput, quality, asset reliability, downtime reduction, and workforce effectiveness and connecting those priorities to appropriate CIMSOFT solutions and services.

Success in this role requires an entrepreneurial mindset, strong manufacturing business acumen, disciplined opportunity management, and the ability to build trusted relationships with business, operations, engineering, maintenance, IT, and executive stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Account Growth and Client Engagement: Create and close expansion opportunities within existing accounts by understanding customer priorities, operational challenges, and strategic initiatives. Build trusted relationships with business, operations, engineering, maintenance, IT, and executive stakeholders.
New Client Acquisition and Lead Management: Develop net-new opportunities through proactive prospecting, targeted account development, referrals, industry networking, and effective management of inbound and outbound leads.
Business Outcome Selling and Strategic Consultation: Lead discovery conversations focused on customer challenges and measurable outcomes, including productivity, throughput, quality, asset reliability, downtime reduction, and workforce effectiveness. Position technology as an enabler of measurable business value.
Consultative Discovery and Qualification: Establish the customer's business challenge, measurable impact, desired outcomes, decision process, key stakeholders, competitive environment, and compelling reason to act.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Engage Offering Managers and subject matter experts at the appropriate stage of qualified opportunities. Coordinate internal resources throughout the sales process while maintaining ownership of the customer relationship.
Targeted Marketing and Demand Generation: Collaborate with Marketing and Sales Development Representatives to execute targeted campaigns, industry events, and account-based initiatives designed to generate qualified opportunities.
Industry and Portfolio Expertise: Maintain a strong understanding of manufacturing priorities, industry trends, and CIMSOFT's portfolio of AVEVA, Braincube, AMDT, and professional services.
Strategic Account and Market Planning: Work with leadership to prioritize target accounts, assess territory potential, and develop focused account and market strategies.
Sales Process Leadership: Lead opportunities through the complete sales cycle using a structured and consultative qualification approach.
Opportunity Management and Forecasting: Maintain accurate opportunity information, pipeline activity, next steps, and forecasts within the CRM system while ensuring disciplined follow-up throughout the sales process.
Executive and Stakeholder Engagement: Develop relationships across multiple levels of client organizations and effectively communicate business value to operational, technical, business, and executive stakeholders.

Strong opportunity management, pipeline development, forecasting, and CRM discipline.
Ability to conduct effective account research and develop targeted account strategies.
Ability to understand industrial technology concepts and communicate their business value to customers.
Professional proficiency in French and English, with the ability to effectively serve customers and collaborate with partners and colleagues across Canada.
Ability and willingness to travel throughout the assigned territory.

Experience and Education

5–7 years of successful B2B sales or business development experience.
Experience selling into manufacturing or industrial organizations.
Demonstrated success developing existing accounts and winning net-new customers.
Experience leading consultative discovery and complex, multi-stakeholder sales opportunities.
Experience selling software, professional services, consulting, or digital transformation solutions.
Experience using CRM tools for opportunity management, pipeline development, and forecasting.
Knowledge of Food & Beverage, Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), Pharmaceutical, Pulp and Paper, or Wood Products manufacturing is preferred.
Experience with industrial data, analytics, asset performance, or engineering information management is an asset.
Experience selling Industrial SCADA, MES, MRP, or MOM software is preferred.
