The Senior Project Manager Market is responsible for leading teams to deliver project(s) in CIRO’s market regulation technology business unit on time, scope and budget. These projects involve the implementation of applications and infrastructure to support the real-time trade surveillance solution ecosystem. This ecosystem of solutions monitor market events across equities, fixed income, derivatives, and digital asset markets and serve as critical market oversight infrastructure, helping regulators and market operators detect potential market abuse, insider trading, manipulation, disruptive trading practices, and other threats to market integrity. The Senior Project Manager will also lead discovery activities.
Core Responsibilities:
- Manage medium to large-scale projects defining project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior IT management, business leaders and stakeholders using ePMO processes and procedures.
- Work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence.
- Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools and ensure constant communication to all stakeholders involved.
- Prepare project artifacts (charters, project plan, RAID logs, financials, etc.) in accordance with ePMO process and tool standards.
- Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders. Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
- Manage and coordinate third-party vendors and other external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders nationally to align systems and procedures for different functions.
Must-haves
- 5-10 years of experience leading complex technology initiatives within capital markets, financial services, regulatory organizations, exchanges, marketplaces, broker-dealers, or market infrastructure providers.
- Experience and understanding of market structure, trade lifecycle, order lifecycle, and regulatory surveillance processes across one or more asset classes: equities, fixed income, derivatives, and digital assets (crypto).
- Led the implementation of 2-3 large complex, cross-functional projects involving technology and business verticals.
- Proven experience in leading complex data-centric technology projects involving the implementation, migration, modernization, and integration of large-scale data environments containing high-volume transactional, market, reference, and analytical data.
- Demonstrated experience managing projects involving: data migration and conversion activities, data onboarding and ingestion pipelines, data mapping and transformation, data reconciliation and validation.
- Hands-on project experience involving market data feeds and related protocols such as MRF, FIX, SAIL.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and lead across a matrix organization on execution of projects and projects that touch multiple functions.
- Experience conducting project discovery activities.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Post-secondary degree (computer science/engineering preferred)

- Led at least 2 projects involving AI/Automation
- Previous experience in a Regulatory environment or financial services industry
- Experience with Project Management Tools (i.e. MS PPM/Project, Clarizen, Clarity, Planview)
