The Opportunity
At Cirque du Soleil, the Costume Workshop is where artistry meets engineering and this newly created role sits at the heart of that convergence. As our Digital Workshop Technician, you will be one of the first people to anchor digital fabrication as a core part of our costume creation process, operating alongside a multidisciplinary team of costume craftspeople.
Laser cutters, 3D printers, production files: you transform digital data into one-of-a-kind pieces that come alive on stages around the world. Your curiosity for emerging materials, processes, and technologies will directly shape what becomes possible in our productions and how our entire team creates.
What You'll Do
- Operate laser cutting equipment across a range of materials, working from ready-to-run production files
- Execute 3D printing runs and manage the full fabrication workflow from setup to delivery
- Maintain rigorous digital file documentation and project archives
- Assess material, equipment, and timeline needs for each project
- Collaborate with the Costume Workshop team to continuously improve fabrication methods and optimize equipment use
- Share discoveries and actively build the team's collective knowledge
What You Bring
Must-Haves
- Training or hands-on experience in digital fabrication, industrial design, prototyping, craft arts, or a related field
- Practical experience with digital fabrication equipment (laser cutter, 3D printer)
- Comfort working from pre-prepared or pre-modelled digital files
- A disciplined approach to documenting research processes and results
- Fluency in both French and English (spoken and written)

- Interest in exploring fabrication solutions beyond traditional methods
- Experience in live entertainment, stage fashion, or performing arts contexts
