The Opportunity
The Sr. Director, Partnerships Sales is responsible for driving new business partnerships (domestic and global) as part of the corporate sponsorship team. Tasked with generating new business and renewal revenue for the Cirque Brand and Shows, this individual will lead sponsorship outreach, pitches, negotiation and close major sponsorship deals in key categories and territories.This role will report to the VP, Partnerships.
What You'll Do
- Lead new business sales efforts for partnerships across the Global Client Portfolio with a focus on Canada;
- Maintain and grow a robust network of brand and agency contacts and relationships to develop new leads, drive revenue and nurture deals from start to finish;
- Secure annual revenue in the mid-seven figures;
- Analyze market trends, leverage data, and turn business objectives into compelling sales;
- Have a multi-national outlook and ability to work with diverse cultures;
- Travel as needed to meet with clients in person, attend events and networking functions;
- Play an active role in the key category development;
- Lead renewal conversations within your assigned categories;
- Complete all other job-related duties as assigned.
What You Bring
To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty at the highest levels. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- At least 8 years of integrated domestic & global integrated brand partnership/sponsorship sales experience within Arts & Entertainment (i.e. live events, event / experiential production agencies, media platforms, sports marketing agencies, fashion publishing, and so on);
- Successful track record with deal sizes reaching the mid-seven-figure range on a national scale;
- Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills;
- Skilled storyteller with an entrepreneurial spirit who enjoys the sales process;
- Hunter-mentality, high EQ, and comfortable with ambiguity;
- High-level contacts at large / midsize corporations, particularly companies with partnership portfolios;
- Knowledge of and strength in entertainment and sponsorship landscapes, confident across white-space partnership development;
- Comfort working in a hybrid environment across multiple time zones;
- Ability to communicate to stakeholders and executives;
- Verification of the right to work in Canada for Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group.
