As a Full Stack Developer working across Java and React, you will design and build backend services and user-facing features for Citi's risk and finance organization, supporting the systems used to compute metrics that help manage exposure to counterparty default and meet regulatory programs such as CECL, GSST, IFRS9, and CCAR. You will work across the full technology stack, from scalable backend services to responsive front-end interfaces, while collaborating closely with engineers, analysts, and stakeholders across the business.
Responsibilities

- Develop responsive, user-facing features using React to deliver intuitive tools for internal stakeholders.
- Design and review technical architecture to ensure scalability, performance, and reliability across the application stack.
- Drive critical work streams independently, setting direction and overseeing delivery toward measurable outcomes.
- Establish coding and design standards that the team adopts consistently across front-end and backend development.
- Partner with stakeholders across Risk, Finance, and Front Office teams, as well as external market regulators, to deliver projects spanning the capital reporting spectrum.
- Mentor engineers at different experience levels and support their professional growth.
- Collaborate across teams to deliver software that meets client needs and exceeds performance expectations.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- 6+ years of hands-on engineering experience, including technical leadership responsibilities.
- A degree in a STEM or Finance-related discipline.
- Experience building enterprise-grade backend applications using Java 17 or higher, NoSQL, and Spring.
- Experience building front-end applications using React.
- Experience with relational and document databases, data structures, caching, and reporting systems.
- A background managing or mentoring engineers, including teams working across multiple time zones.
- Experience working with large and complex codebases.
- Experience building RESTful web services using Java, Spring Boot, JSON, and SQL, along with modern build tools.
- Experience designing event-driven microservices following 12-factor app development standards.
- Familiarity with CI/CD and orchestration tools such as Tekton or Harness.
Beneficial Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in the financial industry, particularly in Credit Risk or Market Risk Capital domains.
- Experience building and deploying enterprise applications to public or private cloud platforms, including AWS.
- Experience with distributed caching systems such as Apache Ignite or Redis.
- Experience with big data platforms and technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, HDFS, Presto, Starburst, Spark, or Kafka.
- Experience using Spring Framework and cloud computing for batch and real-time high-volume data processing.
- Experience interpreting complex SQL queries and applying database design concepts such as data modeling and logical or conceptual design.
- A bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
