Overview

This position performs asphalt-related repairs and maintenance of roads; performs concrete related repairs and maintenance of sidewalks, curbs, catch basins, and manholes.
Responsibilities
- Roads Maintenance: Work as a Roads Maintainer on an assigned crew during the summer and handle winter maintenance duties as assigned in the winter.
- Asphalt Work: Conduct pre-trip inspections, road repairs, utility cuts, crack sealing, pothole repairs, infrared repairs, and asphalt plant.
- Concrete Work: Perform pre-trip inspections, install and repair sidewalks, curbs, and gutters, repair manholes and catch basins, and perform mud-jacking.
- Snow Removal: Operate single/dual axle dump trucks (tandem) with plow, wing, a variety of salters and anti-icing to remove and haul snow, make salt brine, operate sidewalk plows, and shovel snow.
- Other Duties: Perform additional related tasks as assigned.
- Minimum Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
- Valid MTO DZ class driver's license in good standing.
- Shift work may be required for winter maintenance activities:
- available for winter call outs as required.
- Reliable with a good attitude and employment record.
- Demonstrated communication skills with an ability to keep accurate written records.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with customers.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
