We offer a collaborative and dynamic workplace where our values of Teamwork, Service, Respect and Leadership guide our conduct and contribute to a healthy culture. If you would like to work as part of a progressive organization and enjoy a fast-paced environment, then this may be the opportunity for you.

Come work with us!

Technology is at the heart of delivering municipal services, supporting employees, and keeping people connected. Our Corporate Information Technology (CIT) team is responsible for maintaining the systems, networks, and infrastructure that enable City operations to run efficiently and securely.

We are seeking a temporary, full-time Network Analyst to join our team for a two-year term starting January 04, 2027 & ending January 12, 2029. This role is ideal for a technology professional who enjoys working across network infrastructure, wireless connectivity, servers, virtualization, and enterprise technology projects. If you thrive on solving technical challenges, implementing improvements, and supporting critical systems that serve an entire organization, we'd love to hear from you.

What is the Opportunity?

Reporting to the Manager, Vendor & Service Delivery, the Network Analyst is responsible for planning, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing the City's network and infrastructure environment. This includes local and wide area networks, wireless networks, fibre infrastructure, virtualization platforms, servers, and supporting technologies that keep City services connected and operating effectively.

In this role, you will be a key technical resource within the Corporate Information Technology team. You will collaborate with vendors, departmental stakeholders, and fellow IT professionals to deliver infrastructure projects, resolve complex technical issues, and ensure the City's technology environment remains reliable, secure, and prepared for future growth.

What will you do?

In this diverse network analyst role, you will:

  • Design, implement, maintain, and support the City's network infrastructure, including local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), wireless networks, and fibre connectivity.
  • Monitor and optimize network performance to ensure reliable and secure connectivity across City facilities and business systems.
  • Plan and coordinate infrastructure upgrades, replacements, and modernization initiatives to support evolving business needs.
  • Administer and support the City's virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) environment, including users, device pools, and associated hardware.
  • Assist with the deployment, maintenance, and lifecycle management of servers, routers, UPS systems, and other enterprise technology assets.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex network, connectivity, and infrastructure-related issues while providing advanced technical support.
  • Work closely with vendors and technology partners during installations, upgrades, maintenance activities, and issue resolution.
  • Research and evaluate emerging technologies, products, and services to support continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, standards, and support procedures.
  • Collaborate with and provide backup support to other members of the Corporate Information Technology team, including participating in the after-hours on-call rotation, while contributing to a shared culture of learning and knowledge transfer.

Who you are?

You take pride in delivering reliable service, have strong attention to detail, and enjoy working with both technology and people. You bring:

  • A Degree in Computer Science or a Technical Computer Networking Diploma from a recognized institution. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of progressive experience supporting network infrastructure, server technologies, or enterprise technology environments.
  • Experience designing, implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting network infrastructure and connectivity solutions.
  • Working knowledge of virtualization technologies and enterprise server environments.
  • Experience supporting network hardware, wireless networking, fibre infrastructure, and related technologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues effectively.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills, allowing you to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders alike.

An ITIL Foundations certification or experience with VMware environments would be considered assets.

What we Offer?

Joining our Corporate Information Technology team means becoming part of a collaborative group that values innovation, service excellence, and professional growth. In this role, we offer:

  • Comprehensive Health and Dental Benefits from day one to support the well-being of you and your family.
