Working closely with the HACCP Coordinator and operations leadership, the Sanitation Supervisor will support the implementation of sanitation programs, maintain required documentation, monitor cleaning practices, assist with environmental testing and corrective actions, and ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, WHMIS, Occupational Health and Safety requirements, and company policies and procedures.

The successful candidate will be a strong frontline leader who is comfortable working in a unionized environment, providing coaching and direction to employees, promoting safe work practices, and ensuring sanitation standards are consistently maintained.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily sanitation activities, ensuring the plant, equipment, grounds, and surrounding areas meet established cleanliness, sanitation, and pest-control standards.
  • Lead daily team meetings, assign work, coordinate schedules, and ensure sanitation tasks are completed on time and properly documented.
  • Work closely with the HACCP Coordinator and Sanitation Manager to maintain sanitation programs, review testing results, address deficiencies, and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, WHMIS, health and safety requirements, regulatory standards, and company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain required sanitation documentation, including chemical logs, sanitation schedules, inventories, records, and the master sanitation schedule.
  • Monitor chemical inventory and ensure chemicals and sanitation equipment are safely stored, handled, and available when required.
  • Train, coach, and provide ongoing performance feedback to employees, including addressing attendance, performance, and workplace concerns as required.
  • Promote a safe and healthy workplace by enforcing PPE requirements, safe work practices, incident reporting, and participation in investigations.
  • Ensure employees are properly trained, competent, and equipped to perform their duties safely and effectively.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and foster a respectful, inclusive, and high-performing team aligned with Civeo’s core values.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in food service operations with a focus on sanitation and supervisory responsibilities.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities required.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Proven ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to respond to changing priorities and operational requirements.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Positive, service-oriented attitude with a commitment to delivering a high standard of customer service.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and work effectively with diverse teams.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment, with an understanding of labour relations practices.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while supporting overall site operations.
  • Advanced Food Safety Training certification is required (e.g., FoodSafe Level II or equivalent).
  • Successful completion of vulnerable sector check, criminal record check, and any other required security clearances.
