Job Description
Warehouse Associate will support warehouse operations. Reporting to Manager, Warehouse, The Warehouse Associate supports warehouse and distribution operations by receiving, storing, organizing, tracking, picking, packing, and shipping materials and products. They ensure inventory accuracy, maintain warehouse cleanliness and safety, operate material handling equipment, and assist in meeting customer delivery requirements. The role requires physical labor, attention to detail, adherence to safety procedures, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Responsibilities
Receiving & Inbound Logistics
- Receive incoming shipments and deliveries.
- Unload trucks, containers, and trailers.
- Verify shipment quantities against packing slips and purchase orders.
- Inspect received goods for damage, defects, or shortages.
- Report discrepancies or damaged materials.
- Sign and process shipping and receiving documentation.
- Label and identify incoming inventory.
- Put away stock into designated storage locations
Inventory Management
- Maintain accurate inventory records.
- Conduct cycle counts and physical inventory counts.

- Monitor stock levels and report shortages.
- Replenish inventory locations.
- Ensure proper stock rotation (FIFO/LIFO as required).
- Track inventory movements and transactions.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies
Order Picking & Fulfillment
- Pick customer orders accurately from storage locations.
- Gather products according to pick lists or work orders.
- Verify item numbers, quantities, and specifications.
- Consolidate orders for shipment.
- Stage orders for packing and delivery.
Packing & Shipping
- Package products to prevent damage during transit.
- Prepare customer orders for shipment.
- Create and apply shipping labels.
- Complete shipping documentation.
- Load outbound freight onto trucks and trailers.
- Coordinate with carriers and transportation providers.
- Generate tracking information and shipping reports.
Material Handling
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other equipment.
- Move products, materials, and supplies throughout the facility.
- Load and unload pallets.
- Stack and wrap pallets.
- Secure loads for transportation.
Quality Control
- Inspect products for quality and accuracy.
- Identify damaged or defective items.
- Quarantine non-conforming materials.
- Ensure orders meet company quality standards.
- Assist with audits and inventory reconciliations.
- Maintain product traceability where required.
Warehouse Organization
- Organize inventory and storage areas.
- Maintain proper warehouse layout.
- Keep shelves, racks, bins, and storage locations orderly.
- Ensure products are stored correctly and safely.
- Assist in warehouse rearrangements and space optimization.
- Maintain proper labeling and signage.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow company safety policies and procedures.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain clean and hazard-free work areas.
- Participate in safety meetings and training.
- Report unsafe conditions and incidents.
- Follow regulatory requirements and company operating standards.
- Assist with workplace inspections and audits.
Equipment & Facility Maintenance
- Perform daily equipment inspections.
- Report equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs.
- Keep tools and equipment in good working condition.
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness.
- Remove waste and recycling materials.
- Support housekeeping and facility upkeep activities.
Administrative Duties
- Enter inventory transactions into warehouse systems.
- Complete receiving, shipping, and inventory documentation.
- Maintain records of shipments and receipts.
- Prepare reports and tracking logs.
- Use warehouse management systems (WMS), scanners, and computer software.
- Assist with data entry and inventory reconciliation,
Team & Customer Support
- Work collaboratively with warehouse staff and Manager.
- Coordinate with purchasing, operations, transportation, and customer service teams.
- Assist with customer pickups.
- Resolve shipping and receiving issues.
- Support training of new warehouse associates when required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- 2-3 years’ experience.
- Certification or enrollment in a post-secondary warehousing program.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Working knowledge in Microsoft 365 applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and data entry software; prior experience with a warehouse management information system is a plus.
- Valid class 5 driver’s license with clean 5-year driving abstract.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment - fork lift & power jacks .
- Experience in the coordination of physical inventory counts.
- Knowledge of materials used in the manufacture of mobile structures.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and customer service skills.
- An aptitude for working with numbers and detailed paperwork.
- Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced team environment.
- Strong focus on safety, quality of work and environmental awareness.
Working Conditions
- Available to work on a rotational schedule to meet operational requirements.
- Physical dexterity to walk, stand, sit, kneel, band and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Overtime as required.
- Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling.
- Working in varying temperatures and warehouse environments.
