Original job description

About the Opportunity

Join an exciting startup from Day 0 and help build its marketing presence from the ground up! We are looking for a creative, hands-on Marketing Specialist to support two innovative products - one serving the B2C market and the other focused on B2B customers.

This is an opportunity to contribute to brand development, execute marketing campaigns, engage target audiences, and support customer acquisition and business growth across both businesses.

Role Overview

As the Marketing Specialist, you will play an important role in building and executing marketing initiatives for both startups. This hands-on position will support marketing strategy, brand development, content creation, campaign execution and optimization, demand generation, sales enablement, and B2C user acquisition.

Working closely with the President/Chief Revenue Officer and collaborating with Product and Development leaders, you will help translate business priorities into effective marketing campaigns and measurable results. The ideal candidate is proactive, adaptable, and comfortable taking ownership in a fast-paced startup environment.

The role will be based in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), with hybrid or remote work arrangements open for discussion.

Key Responsibilities

Digital Marketing & Campaign Management

Plan and execute campaigns across social media, email marketing, SEO/SEM, and paid advertising.
Support website updates, landing pages, and digital initiatives to improve engagement and conversions.
Maintain the marketing calendar and monitor campaign performance.

Content & Brand Management

Create content for websites, blogs, newsletters, social media, and other marketing channels.
Develop marketing materials, presentations, and promotional assets.
Ensure consistent brand messaging across platforms.

Lead Generation & Customer Engagement

Support B2B lead-generation and B2C customer-acquisition initiatives.
Coordinate email campaigns, promotions, product launches, and customer engagement activities.
Collaborate with sales and business development teams to support pipeline growth.

Market Research & Analytics

Research target audiences, competitors, industry trends, and market opportunities.
Track website traffic, campaign engagement, leads, and conversions.
Prepare performance reports and recommend improvements based on data and insights.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work with founders and cross-functional teams to align marketing activities with business goals.
Coordinate with external agencies, freelancers, and vendors as needed.
Manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining quality and attention to detail.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's degree or diploma in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.
1–3 years of hands-on marketing experience, preferably in a technology company, startup, or growth-oriented environment.
Experience with digital marketing, content creation, social media, email campaigns, and lead generation.
Understanding of SEO/SEM, paid advertising, and marketing analytics.
Experience supporting both B2B and B2C marketing is an asset.
Familiarity with tools such as Google Analytics, Google Ads, LinkedIn, CRM platforms, and email marketing tools.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, organizational abilities, and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently, adapt to changing priorities, and collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Competencies

Execution and ownership: Takes initiative and delivers projects on time.
Creativity: Develops engaging content and effective campaign ideas.
Analytical thinking: Uses data to evaluate and improve marketing performance.
Adaptability: Thrives in a dynamic startup environment.
Collaboration: Works effectively with leadership, colleagues, and external partners.

Why Join Civic Touch?

Opportunity to contribute to a growing company and build its marketing presence.
Exposure to diverse B2B and B2C marketing initiatives.
Direct collaboration with founders and cross-functional teams.
Meaningful ownership, professional growth, and the opportunity to make a measurable impact.

Civic Touch is an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering an inclusive and respectful workplace.
