Role Description The Senior Interior Designer will lead interior design projects from initial concept through to completion, ensuring design quality, technical accuracy, and alignment with client objectives. This full-time, on-site role based in Edmonton, AB involves developing design concepts, preparing detailed drawings and specifications, and overseeing space planning and FF&E selections for hospitality and workplace environments. The Senior Interior Designer will coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal team members to manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables. Day-to-day responsibilities include attending client meetings, producing and reviewing construction documentation, guiding junior designers, and ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards. The role also involves contributing to design research, maintaining awareness of industry trends, and supporting continuous improvement of CKDESIGN’s design processes and standards.
Qualifications
- Expertise in interior design, with strong proficiency in hospitality and workplace project delivery. Candidates MUST have a minimum Five Years of experince working on Canadian projects using & applying the National Building Code with ease

- Competence in space planning and FF&E selection, ensuring functional, aesthetic, and brand-aligned environments.
- Experience with architecture and construction drawings, including coordination with consultants and contractors.
- Proficiency in industry-standard design and documentation software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite).
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related discipline.
- AAA Professional certification - Alberta Licensed ID or Alberta Intern ID or eligibility considered an asset.
- Strong project management skills, including scheduling, budgeting, and multi-project coordination.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and client relationship skills, with the ability to lead meetings and design reviews.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and support junior team members in both design and technical tasks.
- Knowledge of Canadian building codes, accessibility standards, and sustainability principles relevant to interior design practice.
