Operations Business Analyst - Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

We have an existing opportunity to add a driven, dedicated and organized Operations Business Analyst to our team! You will be responsible for the on-going support of our application and users.

Reporting to the Business Analyst Team Lead, the Business Analyst is responsible for providing analytical support for monthly and annual operational performance reporting. Additional responsibility in business analysis assisting the Business Analyst Team in developing and implementing processes to further the data governance programs with the business and gathering and documenting processes as needed.

Job Responsibilities

Work with internal and external stakeholders to gather and document requirements for reporting.
Monitor and communicate on performance of existing and developed reporting structures.
Develop reporting solutions in EXCEL and Power BI to meet requirements.
Communicate and assist in development of governance process improvements.
Support business processes as required to ensure efficient operations.
Developing in-depth analysis as required on business process improvements.
Bring an entrepreneurial spirit to drive the role forward within the business and the industry.
Assist in developing data governance implementation plans.
Gather and document business processes into centralized business glossary and maintain that document.
Review and recommend changes to further the data governance program and initiatives.
Build, govern and maintain business coding and reference data and documents for operational systems.
Assist as needed with business consultation, communication and implementation of dataset and document updates.

Qualifications And Competencies

Diploma in Business Administration or Equivalent Experience.
2+ years of experience in a similar role.
2+ years of experience with Excel, ability to work with connected data sources.
Familiar with business process mapping.
Experience in Finance or Insurance Industry considered an asset.
Strong attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills.
Experience with Power Pivot, Power BI or TSQL and/or DAX will be considered an asset.
Analytical thinker.
Ability to multi-task and handle a high volume of concurrent tasks.
Works collaboratively with others inside and outside of the business to find solutions

Environment/Working Conditions

Dynamic environment with tight deadlines, numerous and changing priorities
Occasional evening/weekend/overtime required for maintenance or emergency response
Remote and/or Hybrid Office environment including prolonged periods of computer use
