About the studio

Clarisa Llaneza Studio (CLS) is a Toronto interior design studio creating private residences and retail spaces, from city homes and lakeside builds to brand flagships. Led by Principal & Creative Director Clarisa Llaneza, whose background is in architecture and lighting design, our work is about atmosphere: considered light, honest materials and spaces that tell a story.

The role

We're looking for a Senior Designer to lead projects from first concept to final install. You'll own residential and retail projects through every phase, from design direction and development to construction documents and construction administration, working closely with Clarisa, clients, consultants and trades.

What you'll do

• Lead projects as design lead and day-to-day project manager, from kickoff to handover
• Develop concepts, material and lighting palettes, and client presentations
• Produce and oversee construction drawings, millwork details and specifications
• Coordinate architects, engineers, consultants, contractors and trades
• Run site visits, review shop drawings and resolve issues during construction
• Manage schedules, fees and hours, and flag risks early
• Prepare FF+E selections and hand approved items to our procurement team
• Mentor and review the work of intermediate and junior designers

What you bring

• 5+ years of experience in high-end residential or retail interior design, including leading projects
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, InDesign and Photoshop
• Hands-on construction administration experience
• Confidence presenting to clients and articulating design intent
• The ability to manage several projects at once, calmly and with care
• A refined eye for material, light, proportion and detail
• A degree or diploma in interior design or architecture
• Assets: rendering skills (V-Ray, Enscape or similar), Revit, ARIDO registration
