  • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, maintaining strong internal controls and process efficiency
  • Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements
  • Ensure compliance with not-for-profit accounting standards and government funding requirements, including preparation of funder reports
  • Lead month-end close process and support variance analysis to identify business drivers
  • Manage external audit relationships, lead audit preparation, and resolve audit findings
  • Support annual budget development, forecasts, and long-range financial planning
  • Partner with department leaders to provide financial insights and decision-making support
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and scalability
  • Oversee ERP and financial systems to ensure data integrity and optimal utilization
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and performance management for finance team members
  • Support ad hoc financial analysis and strategic initiatives as required

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA designation required with public accounting background
  • 5+ years of accounting experience with demonstrated leadership in financial operations
  • Hands-on expertise in full-cycle accounting, including month-end and year-end close processes
  • Proven ability to support or lead external audits and implement process improvements
  • Strong understanding of internal controls, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with ERP systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines

Nice to Have

  • Experience in not-for-profit accounting and government funding compliance
  • Background in healthcare or broader public sector environment
  • Knowledge of Ontario health funding models (LHIN/Ontario Health)
