Job Description - Associate Program Manager
The Program Manager will be required to coordinate and manage tasks & timelines for technical initiatives, continuous improvement projects, site deployments, and new product launch activities of CleanDesign’s Hybrid Energy Management System (hEMS) models. Working closely with the company’s Director of Program Management and senior managers, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in monitoring & controlling the many activities involved with hEMS model delivery from design/concept through to assembly and implementation.
An effective Program Manager is expected to help drive strategic initiatives, contribute to the overall growth of the company’s deployed units, and support assembly & manufacturing activities by assisting in the continuous improvement of products and processes through technical design changes, testing, and launch.
The role is based in our head office in Toronto and would entail some travel. Must have a valid passport and be able to travel to the United States.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for defining work breakdown tasks and timelines, coordinating and managing the tasks, keeping lists of open points/issues, and recommending resource needs and allocation.
- Ensures Project Targets are met (Quality, Delivery Timing, Budget, Scope)
- Use MS Project and other applicable tools to establish milestones and make adjustments as needed throughout the life cycle of an initiative or project.
- Play a supporting role in the multi-disciplinary approach to equipment design, development, and testing.
- Maintain initiative and project related open issues and task management lists while playing a pivotal role in helping the senior managers drive these issues & tasks to completion.
- Be an effective communications point-of-contact for team members and management, suppliers and customers.
- Ensure adherence to industry standards, safety and good manufacturing practices in all activities.
- Determine, recommend and help produce documentation and SOPs required to improve the company’s processes, procedures, and products.
- Debrief senior management verbally or in writing on the current progress, budget status and timelines of assigned initiatives or projects.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Technical diploma or degree with 3+ years of relevant experience in project management or program administration.
- Above average understanding of electrical systems, controls or automated solutions, and equipment assembly processes.
- Excellent problem solving skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to every detail.
- Able to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, at all working levels of the organization.
- A high level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation.
- PMP Certification or working towards it, is an asset
- Very computer literate (skilled with the MS Office suite – Excel, Word, Project, Visio, Outlook)
