Original job description
Clearco is looking for an FP&A Specialist / Associate to drive our core operating model, variance analysis, and executive decision support.
This is an exceptional opportunity for someone early in their career to take on real leadership quickly, with direct exposure to our VP, CEO, department heads, and Board of Directors. You will own the monthly BvA package, maintain our company operating model, lead budget re-forecasts, and deliver ad-hoc strategic analysis for senior leadership.
Rather than focusing on a rigid traditional background, we value curiosity, intrinsic drive, and proactive problem-solving. We are looking for someone who doesn't just execute repeat monthly reporting cycles, but leverages modern tools and automation to make processes faster, cleaner, and smarter.
Day-to-day responsibilities:
- Own the monthly BvA package: pull actuals, explain variances with department leaders and deliver the package to leadership on a fixed monthly timeline
- Own Board deck reporting: prepare the financials, KPIs and commentary for each Board meeting
- Support the annual budget and reforecasts, including headcount planning against budget
- Build and maintain the company operating model and key financial KPIs
- Prepare materials for the monthly leadership review
- Support liquidity and scenario analysis with the Senior Associate, Capital Markets & Corporate Treasury
- Deliver ad hoc analysis for the CEO and leadership team
- Use portfolio reporting from the Senior Associate, Capital Markets & Corporate Treasury, in the BvA and Board deck
- Collaborate with all Finance team members on shared deliverables, including month-end close, audit, tax, the annual budget and Board materials, and cover for teammates during absences and peak periods
You will thrive if you have:
- 2-4 years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, investment banking or public accounting, ideally at a lender or fintech
- A degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field; CPA or CFA (or progress toward either) is an asset
- Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills and experience building operating or three-statement models
- A working knowledge of accounting sufficient to tie the model back to the general ledger
- Experience preparing BvA reporting and Board or senior leadership materials
- Experience with BI or data tools; SQL is an asset
What we offer:
- Comprehensive healthcare and dental coverage
- A tech stipend
- Mental health support and professional development opportunities in a culture that emphasizes work-life balance and transparency
- The chance to participate in high-impact work at a mission-driven organization
- RRSP Matching
Please note that we use AI-assisted tools to help manage applications, but humans remain the sole decision-makers in our hiring. Contact us for more information on our tools or to request an accommodation.
