About the Role

Clever Samurai is looking for a versatile, technically proficient Multimedia Designer & Creative Producer to join our creative team, supporting projects across the 5th business Group of Agencies.

We're looking for someone who brings together strong graphic design fundamentals, creative thinking, video production capabilities and advanced knowledge of modern creative technologies, including artificial intelligence.

This is a hands-on creative production role for someone who enjoys making things happen. You'll work across multiple clients, brands and industries, developing ideas and producing high-quality creative assets for digital, social, video, print and corporate communications.

AI proficiency is central to this position. We want someone who already incorporates AI and automation into their everyday creative workflows to improve efficiency, accelerate production and expand what's creatively possible. Just as importantly, you'll know when traditional design skills, creative judgment and hands-on craftsmanship are required.

You'll report to a Senior Art Director, working collaboratively with agency teams to turn creative briefs and campaign concepts into compelling, polished work.

We're looking for someone who can contribute ideas, work independently, manage multiple assignments and consistently deliver excellent creative work at an efficient pace.

Key Responsibilities

Creative Development & Ideation

Contribute original ideas and visual concepts for corporate communications, advertising campaigns, social content, brand communications and marketing initiatives.
Translate creative briefs and marketing objectives into engaging visual solutions.
Collaborate with the Senior Art Director, strategists, account teams and other creative professionals to develop and execute concepts.
Bring fresh thinking and practical creative solutions to everyday assignments.

Multimedia Design & Production

Design, develop and produce creative assets across a wide range of media, including:

Social media content, including static graphics, carousels, stories and reels.
Digital advertising creative for paid social, display, search and other online channels.
Website, landing page and email marketing graphics.
Print advertising, brochures, sales materials and other marketing collateral.
Presentation decks, proposals, corporate reports and business communications.
Event, trade show and promotional materials.
Brand assets, templates and adaptable creative systems

Adapt creative assets efficiently across multiple sizes, formats, channels and brand requirements while maintaining consistent quality.

Video Editing & Motion Content

Edit and produce engaging short-form video for social media, digital advertising and marketing campaigns.
Work with supplied footage, photography, stock assets, graphics and AI-generated content to create polished videos.
Incorporate typography, transitions, audio, captions and motion graphics to enhance visual storytelling.
Repurpose and adapt video content for different platforms, audiences and formats.
Apply AI-powered editing and production tools to streamline video workflows.

AI-Enabled Creative Production

This is a fundamental part of the role, not an occasional responsibility.

Integrate AI-powered tools into day-to-day design, ideation, image creation, video production and editing workflows.
Use generative AI to explore creative concepts, develop visual assets, support production tasks and accelerate content development.
Apply AI and automation to eliminate repetitive tasks, accelerate asset adaptation and improve overall production throughput.
Explore new tools and techniques that improve the quality, speed and efficiency of creative delivery.
Combine AI-generated elements with traditional design and production techniques to create refined, professional and brand-appropriate work.
Independently evaluate and refine AI-generated output to meet creative, technical and brand standards.
Share practical AI workflow improvements and new production techniques with the broader creative team.

Production Management & Quality Control

Manage multiple creative assignments across different clients, brands and agencies.
Organize project files, working assets, templates and final deliverables.
Work efficiently against production schedules, deadlines and changing priorities.
Prepare accurate, production-ready files for digital, video and print applications.
Maintain high standards for typography, layout, colour, image quality and visual consistency.
Collaborate with the Senior Art Director to identify opportunities to improve production processes, reduce turnaround times and increase creative output.
Take ownership of assigned work from initial brief through final delivery, incorporating feedback constructively and efficiently.

Qualifications & Experience

Required

Minimum 5 years of professional experience in graphic design, multimedia design or creative production, preferably in an agency or multi-brand environment.
Strong portfolio demonstrating high-quality design across digital, social and print media.
Demonstrated experience editing and producing video content for digital and social platforms.
Strong knowledge of typography, composition, layout, branding and visual storytelling.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Premiere Pro.
Strong working knowledge of PowerPoint and presentation design.
Demonstrated, practical experience using generative AI tools as part of professional creative production.
Ability to manage multiple projects, work independently and deliver against deadlines.
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and a collaborative working style.

AI & Modern Creative Technology

We expect candidates to have meaningful hands-on experience with several contemporary creative and AI tools, which may include:

Adobe Firefly and AI-enabled Adobe Creative Cloud features.
Claude and other generative AI platforms for creative development and workflow support.
Envato or comparable AI production generative platforms
AI-powered image enhancement, background removal, retouching, captioning and video editing applications.
Automation tools and processes that accelerate repetitive production tasks.

Experience with a particular platform is less important than the ability to demonstrate how these technologies improve creative quality, speed and production capacity.

Additional Assets

After Effects and motion graphics experience.
Figma and digital interface design experience.
Photography, videography or basic content capture experience.
Experience building reusable templates, design systems or automated creative workflows.
Familiarity with social media platform requirements and digital advertising formats.
Experience working with multiple clients and diverse brand guidelines.
