Role Description A full-time HVAC Junior Technician is responsible for assisting with the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in an on-site role located in Scarborough, ON. Day-to-day tasks include supporting senior technicians during service calls, performing basic diagnostic checks, helping with routine inspections, and carrying out preventive maintenance activities. The role involves handling tools and equipment safely, documenting work performed, and communicating clearly with team members and customers. The HVAC Junior Technician will also learn to interpret technical manuals, follow work orders, and comply with local codes and safety regulations. This position offers opportunities to develop advanced HVAC skills and grow into more independent responsibilities over time.
Qualifications
- Ability to apply strong Troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve basic HVAC issues under supervision.
- Foundational Plumbing skills to assist with piping, fittings, and drainage connections related to HVAC systems.
- Experience or training in Preventive Maintenance for HVAC equipment, including inspections, filter changes, and cleaning.
- Knowledge of Electricity and safe work practices when working with wiring, controls, and electrical components.
- Understanding of EPA or equivalent environmental and safety guidelines related to refrigerants and emissions (certification or willingness to obtain is an asset).
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school training in HVAC or a related field is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, safety-focused mindset, and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Good physical stamina, ability to work in various indoor and outdoor environments, and lift moderate loads as required.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with a professional and respectful approach to customers and colleagues.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites in Scarborough, ON and surrounding areas.
