Lead HVAC Technician

We are looking for an experienced and dependable Lead HVAC Technician to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading HVAC service, maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation work while maintaining a high standard of workmanship and customer service.
This is a hands-on leadership position for a technician who can diagnose problems, complete quality work, communicate professionally with customers, and mentor other technicians and apprentices.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and perform HVAC service, maintenance, repairs, and installations
- Diagnose and troubleshoot furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, rooftop units, refrigeration systems, and related equipment
- Perform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting within the scope of applicable licensing
- Work with gas-fired equipment in accordance with Ontario requirements
- Complete service calls efficiently while maintaining quality and safety standards
- Inspect systems and provide customers with professional recommendations
- Lead, train, and mentor apprentices and junior technicians
- Review completed work and ensure jobs meet company standards
- Maintain accurate service reports, job notes, and equipment records
- Communicate clearly with customers, office staff, suppliers, and other technicians
- Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment
- Follow Ontario safety requirements, applicable codes, and company procedures
- Represent the company professionally on every job
Minimum Qualifications & Licences
- 313A Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic - Certificate of Qualification
- TSSA G.2 Gas Technician Certificate for applicable gas work
- ODP certification for applicable refrigerant work
- Valid Ontario driver's licence
- Minimum 5 years of HVAC field experience preferred
- Previous lead technician or supervisory experience preferred
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and lead a team
- Excellent communication and customer-service skills
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, controls, electrical components, and refrigeration principles
G.1 Gas Technician certification is considered an asset.
