Original job description

About Clutch:

We’re on a mission to reinvent the way people buy, sell, and own cars. Are you game?

Clutch is Canada’s largest online used car retailer, delivering a seamless, hassle-free car-buying experience to drivers everywhere. Customers can browse hundreds of cars from the comfort of their home, get the right one delivered to their door, and enjoy peace of mind with our 10-Day Money-Back Guarantee… and that’s just the beginning.

Named five years in a row to the Globe & Mail’s list of the Top Growing Companies in Canada and also awarded spots on Deloitte’s Technology Fast 50™ and Fast 500™ lists, we’re looking to add curious, hard-working, and driven individuals to our growing team.

Headquartered in Toronto, Clutch was founded in 2017 and currently services Ontario, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, British Columbia, Prince Edward Island and is now launching in Alberta. Clutch is backed by a number of world-class investors, including D1 Capital, Canaan, Real Ventures, BrandProject, and Upper90. To learn more, visit clutch.ca.

About the role:

We’re on a mission to build a world-class team that drives innovation, growth and excellence. As we scale rapidly, we’re looking for a Retail Vehicle Advisor (Field Specialist) to be the face of Clutch at our new Calgary location.

As a member of our Calgary launch team, you’ll have the opportunity to help build a new market from the ground up, shape how we operate and grow alongside the business. Since our entire car-selling process is online, you’ll often be the first Clutch employee our customers meet when they sell their vehicle. You’ll have the freedom to go above and beyond to make sure every customer has a great, unique experience in this dynamic customer service and transportation role.

What you’ll do:

Delivering a uniquely special experience to each and every one of our customers.
Work between our retail location and off-site appointments, meeting customers throughout the Calgary area to inspect and pick up vehicles they are selling to Clutch.
A major part of this job is having exceptional customer service skills, where you’ll be the face of the company in addressing customer needs, resolving issues, and ensuring satisfaction at every touchpoint.
Bring a sharp eye for detail when inspecting vehicles using our guided inspection app, carefully assessing cosmetic and mechanical condition to identify potential issues and provide customers with a high-quality experience.
You will be accurately and efficiently completing customer paperwork as well as taking thorough notes in our customer tracking system.
Learn to safely operate Clutch’s truck, including loading, securing and transporting vehicles from customer pickup locations back to our storage facility. Full training will be provided.
You’ll also be a team player by assisting other team members with various tasks as necessary.

What we’re looking for:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Experience:
- 2+ years of customer-facing experience
- Comfortable driving longer distances.
- Passionate about cars and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
License: A class 5 License (valid in Alberta)
Driving Record: 3 years of clean driver’s abstract with no major infractions.
Background Check: Clean criminal background check.
Work Authorization: Legally authorized to work in Canada.
Availability: Must be available to work a minimum of 40 hours per week, including weekends, with overtime as required. Clutch operates seven days a week.

It’d be great if you have:

Experience driving larger vehicles is an asset, as you’ll occasionally get behind the wheel of our bright red Clutch car hauler.

Why you’ll love it at Clutch:

Autonomy and ownership, with the opportunity to help build and improve processes as we launch in Calgary.
Help shape the future of car buying and selling in Canada by supporting a critical part of the customer experience.
Take on meaningful responsibility during a period of rapid growth.
We are dedicated to attracting and retaining top talent with top-of-market compensation packages.
Competitive compensation and comprehensive health and dental benefits.

Employment Type:

New, Permanent Full-Time,

Compensation & Benefits:

Salary range: $24 per hour
Benefits: Comprehensive benefits plans include healthcare, dental care, vision care, prescriptions, life insurance and dependent coverage; start from day 1. (Applicable for Permanent Full-Time)
Pay decisions reflect objective criteria: skills, performance, market benchmarking, responsibilities and working conditions.
