Original job description

About Clutch:

We’re on a mission to reinvent the way people buy, sell, and own cars. Are you game?

Clutch is Canada’s largest online used car retailer, delivering a seamless, hassle-free car-buying experience to drivers everywhere. Customers can browse hundreds of cars from the comfort of their home, get the right one delivered to their door, and enjoy peace of mind with our 10-Day Money-Back Guarantee… and that’s just the beginning.

Named five years in a row to the Globe & Mail’s list of the Top Growing Companies in Canada and awarded spots on Deloitte’s Technology Fast 50™ and Fast 500™ lists, we’re looking to add curious, hard-working, and driven individuals to our growing team.

Headquartered in Toronto, Clutch was founded in 2017 and currently services Ontario, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, British Columbia, and Prince Edward Island. Clutch is backed by a number of world-class investors, including D1 Capital, Canaan, Real Ventures, BrandProject, and Upper90. To learn more, visit clutch.ca.

About the role:

We are on a mission to build a world-class team that drives innovation, growth, and excellence. As we scale rapidly, we are introducing the Vehicle Detailer role at our Enfield location to ensure that vehicles meet Clutch’s high presentation standards before delivery. This role focuses on cleaning and preparing vehicles in our reconditioning facility so they are presented to customers in excellent condition. You’ll work closely with production teams, contributing directly to quality and delivery targets.

What you’ll do:

Perform interior and exterior cleaning of vehicles, including washing, vacuuming, polishing, and sanitizing (measured by vehicle cleanliness scores and production completion targets)
Follow standardized detailing methods to meet both quality and time targets
Inspect vehicles for cleanliness and identify any defects or areas requiring additional attention
Use appropriate tools, cleaning agents, and detailing techniques to achieve company standards
Ensure all detailing tasks are completed before vehicles proceed to the next production milestone or customer delivery
Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and request restocking as needed
Operate and maintain detailing equipment safely and efficiently
Adhere to workplace safety guidelines and proper handling of chemicals
Keep detailing bays and work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards
Collaborate with production and quality assurance teams to support daily workflow goals

What we’re looking for:

High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum Class 5 license (valid in Nova Scotia)
Clean driver’s abstract with no major infractions
Detail-oriented with high attention to quality and consistency
Physically fit; able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive tasks, including bending and standing
Able to commit to a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week, including overtime based on business needs.

Other items to note:

Must demonstrate effective communication, ability to resolve issues, and customer service orientation
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Adaptability in a reconditioning facility
Physical and mental skill/effort required for detailing work

It’d be great if you have:

Previous automotive detailing or production experience
Familiarity with facility equipment and inventory processes

Why you’ll love it at Clutch:

Autonomy & ownership – opportunity to build your process and influence the company workforce at every level
Help shape the future of car buying and selling in Canada by leading a critical part of our customer experience
Broad and direct ownership over vehicle presentation during a phase of rapid growth
Dedicated to attracting and retaining top talent with top-of-market compensation packages
Above market health & dental benefits

Employment Type:

Existing, Permanent Full-Time

Compensation & Benefits:

Wage: $20.00 per hour
Benefits: Comprehensive benefits plans include healthcare, dental care, vision care, prescriptions, life insurance, and dependent coverage; start from day 1. (Applicable for Permanent Full-Time)
Pay decisions reflect objective criteria: skills, performance, market benchmarking, responsibilities, and working conditions

Clutch is committed to fostering an inclusive workplace where all individuals have an opportunity to succeed. If you require accommodation at any stage of the interview process, please email talent@clutch.ca
