CMA CGM Canada is recruiting for an experienced Head of Security Operations to join our Global Cybersecurity team located in the Montreal office. POSITION SUMMARY
The Head of Operations ensures the 24/7 performance, stability, and continuity of all Group Security Operations products, internationally accross all CMA CGM companies. They provide cross-product oversight of operations activities, workforce capacity, budget adequacy, KPIs, incident trends, automation needs, and operational readiness for new features. They ensure every Operations Manager (OM) is fully empowered to operate their product, escalate hot topics, and maintain high service availability.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Cross-product operational strategy & governance
- Maintain a unified operational strategy across all products, ensuring consistent service quality and 24/7 continuity.
- Guarantee that operations remain aligned with Group Security Operations priorities and business expectations.
- Actively participate in decision boards, escalating key operational topics and risk areas.
- Ensure products remain balanced in operational workload, maturity, staffing, and service reliability.
2. Operational performance, KPIs & budget oversight
- Consolidate operational health reviews across all products (availability, incidents, SLAs, capacity, risks).
- Oversee operational KPIs and alert the organization when thresholds are reached or risks are identified.
- Manage operational budget together with the Group Security Operations Office, ensuring adequate workforce, FTE capacity, and financial sustainability.
- Provide clear operational reporting and operations dashboard enabling data-driven decisions.
3. Leadership of OM & operational teams
- Ensure every OM is fully in control of their product’s operations and operational continuity.
- Set clear objectives for OMs, support their development, and coach them on incident management, stakeholder communication, and operations leadership.
- Guarantee proper escalation flows and ensure OMs bring operational topics to decision boards.
- Validate critical operational decisions impacting continuity, resources, or risk mitigation.
4. Automation, efficiency & continuous improvement
- Identify transversal automation opportunities across products to reduce manual tasks and increase efficiency.
- Work closely with PMs, Head of Expertise, and the Automation Factory to prioritize automation needs coming from operations.
- Ensure operations teams are properly onboarded and ready to adopt new automated features and tooling evolutions.
QUALIFICATIONS
*CANDIDATES MUST BE LEGALLY AUTHORIZED TO WORK IN CANADA: valid work permit, permanent resident or citizen.
- 10+ years in IT operations, cybersecurity operations, or service management leadership roles.
- Significant experience managing multiple Operations Managers and/or large operational perimeters.
- Strong operational governance capabilities.
- Excellent knowledge of cybersecurity operations, enterprise IT infrastructures, service continuity frameworks, and incident management.
- Strong communication and executive-level escalation/presentation skills.
- Proven experience with operations governance, KPIs, budget management, workforce planning, capacity forecasting, and operational arbitration.
- Comfortable in international, offshore, and 24/7 operational environments.
- Fluent in French and English (mandatory), structured, hands-on, and service-oriented.
