Original job description

Who we are:

Co-op does business differently. As a co-operative, we believe in working together to serve Western Canadians, delivering profits back to our communities, and investing in sustainable growth. To learn more about who we are and how you can help bring our brand to life, visit us at: https://www.southernplainsco-op.crs/sites/southernplains/

The Opportunity:

Build a relationship-driven B2B sales career with Southern Plains Co-op. As an Agro Sales Representative, you will work with growers, commercial customers, and industrial clients across our southeast Saskatchewan trading area, helping them access the products, services, and solutions that support their operations.

This role is focused on prospecting, growing customer accounts, strengthening long-term relationships, and supporting the continued growth of our Agro business while identifying related Bulk Fuel opportunities.

What you’ll do:

The Agro Sales Representative is responsible for growing sales and achieving sales, margin, and customer contact targets. Working collaboratively with the Management team, you will:

Prospect for new business and grow existing Agro customer accounts while identifying related Bulk Fuel opportunities.
Build trusted relationships with growers, commercial customers, and industrial clients through a consistent customer contact program.
Promote Southern Plains Co-op’s Agro products, services, and solutions based on customer needs and business opportunities.
Work with internal managers, agronomy experts, and suppliers to provide practical, customer-focused solutions.
Monitor customer needs, market conditions, and competitor activity to support effective sales planning and territory growth.

Why it matters:

Our team provides a range of products and services to support our member-owners. Through the work that we do, we help to build, fuel, feed, and grow Western Canadian communities together.

Who you are

You are a relationship-driven sales professional with a strong interest in agriculture, business development, and customer growth. You understand that successful B2B sales is built on trust, follow-through, and practical solutions.

You have:

Minimum 3 years of sales experience, preferably in agriculture, crop inputs, fuel, B2B sales, or a related field.
Strong account management skills, with the ability to grow existing customer relationships and develop new business.
Grade 12 education; agriculture, agribusiness, or related post-secondary education is considered an asset.
Strong communication, planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently, manage a customer contact program, and follow through on commitments.
Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence.
Knowledge of the agriculture industry in southeast Saskatchewan and the surrounding trading area is considered an asset.

What we offer

This is an opportunity to build trusted relationships with growers, businesses, and industry customers while helping them find the right solutions for their operations. Your work will directly support customer success, territory growth, and the continued development of our Agro and Bulk Fuel business.

The role offers a competitive base salary, performance-based commission and bonus structure, comprehensive benefits package, and an employer-contributed pension plan. You will also have access to learning and development opportunities and work within a supportive team environment focused on service, teamwork, and long-term customer success.

At Co-op, we embrace diversity and inclusion, and we are working to create a workplace that is as diverse as the communities we serve. We support and provide an environment that allows all Team Members to bring their whole selves to work.

Apply online or submit your application by email to careers@southernplainscoop.com. Only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.
