Role Description The Design and Construction Manager will oversee the planning, design, and execution of residential, commercial, and industrial projects in Montreal, QC. This contract, hybrid role involves coordinating with architects, designers, engineers, clients, and contractors, with work performed both on-site and from home. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing project timelines and budgets, reviewing and approving design plans, supervising construction activities, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and quality standards. The manager will lead project meetings, prepare progress reports, identify and mitigate risks, and support decision-making throughout the project lifecycle. The role also includes overseeing procurement, monitoring subcontractor performance, and ensuring that all deliverables align with Coagmenta’s design vision and client expectations.

Qualifications

Demonstrated experience managing design and construction projects, including coordination of multidisciplinary teams and oversight of project schedules and budgets.
Strong skills in construction planning, site supervision, and quality control, with a solid understanding of building codes, safety standards, and permitting processes.
Proficiency with design and construction tools and software (e.g., CAD/BIM platforms, project management software, scheduling tools such as MS Project or similar).
Effective stakeholder management and communication skills, including the ability to lead meetings, prepare clear reports, and collaborate with clients, consultants, and contractors.
Proven ability in risk assessment, cost control, and contract administration, including change management and negotiation with suppliers and subcontractors.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field; relevant professional certifications are an asset.
Experience with residential, commercial, and industrial projects, preferably in a Canadian context and within the Montreal or Quebec region.
Capacity to work effectively in a hybrid environment, balancing on-site presence with remote work, and managing multiple projects concurrently.
