About The Role

As a Lead Python Developer (MongoDB/Node.js/TypeScript), you will make an impact by designing and developing scalable, secure, and high-performing applications and integration solutions within a complex financial services environment. You will combine hands-on development expertise with technical leadership to help define solution architecture, integration patterns, and cloud-based solutions.

In This Role, You Will

Design and develop scalable applications, microservices, APIs, and integration solutions using Python, Node.js, TypeScript, and MongoDB.
Provide technical leadership in defining solution architectures, identifying gaps between current and target states, and recommending scalable solutions.
Design and support REST APIs and integrations across on-premises, cloud, third-party, and document management systems.
Build solutions that support large data volumes while considering performance, security, infrastructure, and enterprise architecture requirements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement cloud, DevOps, data integration, and security best practices.

Work model

We believe hybrid work is the way forward as we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role's business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3-4 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Toronto, Ontario. Regardless of your working arrangement, we are here to support a healthy work-life balance through our various wellbeing programs.

The working arrangements for this role are accurate as of the date of posting. This may change based on the project you're engaged in, as well as business and client requirements. Rest assured, we will always be clear about role expectations.

Strong development experience within financial services.
Strong hands-on development experience with Python, Node.js, TypeScript, MongoDB, REST APIs, and JSON.
Experience designing and delivering large-scale data platforms and enterprise solutions, including integrations with third-party systems and document management systems.
Experience with cloud architecture, microservices, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub, Linux, Windows, DevOps, and data integration technologies.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent field, with strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills.

These will help you stand out

Experience within Capital Markets or related financial services environments.
Knowledge of data fabric, data mesh, and enterprise data architecture principles.
Understanding of security technologies and practices, including single sign-on, Enterprise Mobility Management, BYOK, data masking, and Data Loss Prevention.
Cloud certification in AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Experience influencing cross-functional stakeholders and working within Agile and Scrum delivery environments.

We're excited to meet people who share our mission and can make an impact in a variety of ways. Don't hesitate to apply, even if you only meet the minimum requirements listed. Think about your transferable experiences and unique skills that make you stand out as someone who can bring new and exciting things to this role.
