QA Automation Engineer (UI + API Automation)

About The Role

Seeking a hands-on Full Stack QA Automation Engineer to ensure quality, reliability, and performance of trading platforms across backend and web applications.

In this role, you will

• Design and maintain automation frameworks.
• Build API, UI, and E2E test suites.
• Integrate tests into CI/CD.
• Collaborate with developers and product teams.
• Execute functional, regression, and performance testing.
• Perform root cause analysis

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Toronto, ON. What You Need To Have To Be Considered

• Experience Level: 6 to 8 years of professional software testing and automation experience, ideally within trading or financial domains.
• Programming & Frameworks: Strong hands-on Java automation experience.
• Web Automation: Proficiency with Selenium and/or Playwright.
• API Testing: Extensive experience with API testing tools including Rest Assured and Postman.
• Technical Stack: Solid working knowledge of SQL for backend validation and Git for version control.
• Pipelines & Methodologies: Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools and working within Agile development teams.

Total Compensation

We regularly assess market data to ensure we offer a competitive compensation package for our associates. The base salary for this position ranges between CAD 70,000 – 90,000 per year. Where the successful candidate may fall within the range depends on relevant education, work and/or management experience and other business-related and job-necessary qualifications. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual performance-based bonus, as well as benefits that support your physical, mental and financial wellbeing.
