WHAT TO EXPECT
Coldstream Clear’s operations team works to maximize efficiency and execute many improvements internally throughout operations. Operations include a main production facility in Truro, Nova Scotia as well as four retail locations in Stewiacke, Dartmouth, Antigonish, and Truro, totaling over 100 employees throughout. We are a very fast-paced, growing company that routinely pushes status quos and industry standards. This is especially true in manufacturing process design, efficiencies, quality, and reliability. We normalize exceptional work and improvements, ensuring our teams are well-resourced to achieve it with the best tools, systems, equipment and processes.
Your Role
We are looking for a Packaging Operator to join our fast-paced production team. reporting to the Production Line Manager, the Packaging Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of our Variety Pack and Canning Line, including automated packaging equipment and robotic systems. The successful candidate will take ownership of their assigned equipment and work area while ensuring production meets established safety, quality, efficiency, and production standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Meet established production, quality, safety, and efficiency expectations.
- Complete production paperwork, electronic records, quality checks, and downtime reports.
- Maintain accurate counts of finished product, rejects, damaged packaging, and rework.
- Monitor production performance and communicate significant variances.
- Follow production schedules and communicate issues that may affect production.
- Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures whenever required.
- Wear all required PPE.
Skills, tools & Systems
- Previous manufacturing, production, packaging, or machine operation experience is an asset.
- Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to learn and operate automated machinery and robotic systems.
- Ability to read and follow SOPs, work instructions, and safety procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
- Ability to identify and report equipment, quality, and safety concerns.
- Willingness to learn and work across multiple positions on the Production lines.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment or with Lean methodology is an asset.
- Experience with warehouse management systems, RF scanners, or inventory practices is an asset.
- Ability to operate and monitor multiple machines running together.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials within company-defined limits.
- Ability to bend, reach, climb stairs/platforms, and work around production equipment.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with noise, moving equipment, and varying temperatures.
- Ability to wear required PPE
