Location: Brampton, Ontario
Schedule: Monday–Friday, Day Shift - No Weekends
If you're a strong mechanic who knows how to diagnose a problem, figure out what's actually wrong and fix it properly, I'd like to speak with you.
I'm currently recruiting a Heavy Equipment Mechanic / Service Technician for one of my longest-standing clients - an established and highly respected organization within the construction equipment industry.
I've personally recruited for this company for 12 years, so I know the organization, the people and the environment I'm introducing you to.
This is an opportunity to join an experienced service team and shop where you'll work on a diverse range of construction and compact equipment, backed by excellent technical resources, modern diagnostic technology and extensive training.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOINGThis is a hands-on shop position where you'll be trusted to diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain and repair equipment rather than simply perform repetitive maintenance.
Your work will include:
- Diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical problems
- Troubleshooting and repairing construction and compact equipment
- Performing preventative maintenance and scheduled repairs
- Completing more involved repairs and equipment rebuilds
- Working with electronic diagnostic and onboard control systems
- Programming, updating and calibrating equipment when required
- Accurately documenting completed service and repair work
- Working alongside an experienced technical and service team
Monday–Friday DAY shift
NO weekends
Overtime available
Plus:
- Tool allowance
- Boot allowance
- RRSP matching
- Company pension
- Extended health care
- Dental and vision coverage
- Life insurance
- Extensive technical and manufacturer training
- Tuition reimbursement
- Modern diagnostic tools and technical resources
- Long-term career development
Ideally, you'll bring 2+ years of hands-on experience (senior level experience will be recongnized) repairing and maintaining equipment in an environment such as:
- Construction equipment
- Heavy equipment
- Rental equipment
- Compact equipment
- Material handling equipment
- Agricultural equipment
- Industrial equipment
Your current title isn't particularly important to me.
You could currently be working as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Technician, Service Technician, Field Service Technician, Construction Equipment Mechanic or Rental Equipment Mechanic.
What matters is that you're mechanically strong, comfortable troubleshooting hydraulic, electrical and mechanical systems, and capable of working through a problem rather than simply replacing parts.
If you have:
- Strong mechanical aptitude and diagnostic ability
- Experience working in a shop and/or field-service environment
- Comfort using computers and electronic diagnostic systems
- The ability to work independently while contributing to a service team
- A valid Ontario driver's licence and clean driver's abstract
LETS CHAT!
NOT ACTIVELY LOOKING?That's okay - Some of the best candidates I've introduced to this client over the years weren't actively searching for another job when we first spoke. You can then decide whether the opportunity makes sense for you before WE make any introduction.
If we haven't worked together before, I invite you to review the professional recommendations on my LinkedIn profile to get a sense of the experience others have had working with me throughout their careers :)
