Job Summary

The main function of an IT Project/Service Manager is to oversee the application of project management methodology during all phases of the project cycle, with responsibilities including project design, scope management, cost control, quality and performance reporting, change management, release management, implementation planning, operation support and maintenance.

This role is primarily focused on Scrum leadership, resource management, and budget oversight. The individual is responsible for coordinating and aligning technical teams to ensure tasks are delivered effectively and project objectives are met.

The role also requires strong Business Analyst (BA) capabilities, as the individual must be able to understand business requirements, communicate effectively with business stakeholders, and bridge the gap between technical and operational teams.

The role will have approximately 75% focus on Project Management and 25% on Business Analysis.

Key Responsibilities

Develops, tracks and manages project budget, project plans, timelines and scope.
Manage project resources including procuring project staff, developing, motivating, coaching and advising.
Partner closely with other members of functional project teams to define business requirements.
Lead teams of developers in the delivery of high-quality software solutions that meet business needs.
Define test plans and ensure that products are defect free before User Acceptance Testing.
Facilitate the User Acceptance Testing process, developing rollout plans and procedures.
Prepare and present cost-benefit analyses.
Ensure appropriate systems development and project management processes are being utilized.
Make presentations to steering committees or project sponsors.
Support both online and batch operations of Production and UAT.
Coordinate and align technical teams to ensure tasks are delivered effectively and project objectives are met.
Understand business requirements and communicate effectively with business stakeholders.
Bridge the gap between technical and operational teams.
Support governance and operational artifacts, including risk assessments, audit documentation, recovery planning, and other operational controls.
Handle matters independently when required while collaborating effectively with the broader team.
Take ownership of issues, drive them to resolution, and engage the appropriate stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required.
MBA or other related advanced degree preferred.
PMP or PMI certification.
2–4 years’ experience.
Proven project management experience.
People management and team building skills.
Demonstrated ability to be flexible/adaptable in exercising judgment in a changing environment and to manage competing priorities.
Proven ability to learn business processes quickly and to work well with business partners at different levels within the organization.
Strong ability to assess risk and apply management principles to technology applications/products and business functions.
Experience delivering technology and business application solutions in a large-scale, multi-platform systems environment.
Strong proficiency in using Jira, Confluence and AI.

Team Environment

The team consists of approximately 10 onsite and offshore team members, primarily based offshore.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should be able to independently manage project-related matters while working effectively with technical teams and business stakeholders. The candidate should have strong project management and operations management knowledge, along with the ability to understand business requirements and communicate effectively across teams.

The expected base salary range for this position is $52 – $62 per hour, depending on experience, skills, and internal equity.
