Mechanical Engineering background required, NOT Electrical Engineering

What Specifically Will They Be Working On?

Perform environmental, mechanical, dynamic, reliability, and functional testing on mobile computing products and systems, both at the entire product level and at specific hardware component levels
Follow pre-defined test plans, work instructions, test standards, and verbal descriptions/defined test plans
Document results for test reports and issue non-compliance reports
Interface with internal customers and provide project status updates
Assist product development engineers in the diagnosis and replication of product failures
Analyze test results and make recommendations
Ensure testing is completed for each design revision in a timely fashion
Set up, adjust, and develop various types of standard or customer mechanical equipment/fixtures to meet test criteria

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and set up lab equipment/machinery for internal testing and maintain machinery efficiently and safely
Ensure that all projects are accurately documented

Qualifications

Ability to handle multiple work requests and projects simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment
Self-directed with the ability to be efficient with minimal supervision
Solid professional work behaviors (attendance, teamwork, time management)
Team player with the ability to work independently
Self-starter with good problem-solving skills
Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new technology
Skill in understanding mechanical engineering technical drawings
Basic proficiency in using AutoCAD or 3D design software for mechanical engineering detail drawings
Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience using a wide range of tools, including common hand and power tools
Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), calibration, and measurement methodologies
Understands basic circuit theory and can read schematics and wiring diagrams
Basic soldering and rework skills
Basic computer skills for Android systems
Understanding of benchmarking tools or diagnostic apps to assess device performance
Good communication skills (listening, providing clear and concise information, using proper language)
Intermediate-level skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Basic understanding of programming control, pneumatic systems, and hydraulic systems
Additional knowledge of electrical equipment such as multimeters, data loggers, oscilloscopes, and power supplies is a plus

The expected base salary range for this position is $22 – $23 per hour, depending on experience, skills, and internal equity.
