Role: Senior/Intermediate React Native Developer
Type: Contract-6+ Months
Location: Toronto, ON- 5x/Month-Onsite (1-2x/week)
Compensation: $70-$79/hour
Primary Focus: ~80% React Native / ~20% Native Mobile & adjacent development
Interview Process: 2 Client Rounds (1- Technical- In-person- 1.5 Hours, 2- Remote)
Must-Have Skills:
- Strong, recent hands-on experience developing production React Native applications
- Experience working with modern/recent versions of React Native
- Strong hands-on experience with Expo
- Strong TypeScript/JavaScript development experience
- Experience working within Agile development squads
- Ability to take Figma designs and independently translate them into production-ready mobile features
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with Product, Design, QA, and Engineering teams
Nice to Have:
- Previous native iOS development experience, particularly Swift
- Native Android development experience
- Experience troubleshooting React Native issues within native mobile layers
- Experience with EAS Build and EAS Update
- Experience with Zustand and/or TanStack
- Experience with Expo-based navigation
- Experience with Jenkins and GitHub Actions
- Web application development experience
- Experience with GitHub Copilot or other AI-assisted development tools
- Exposure to spec-driven development
- Experience with Figma MCP servers, Spec Kit, or similar AI-enabled engineering workflows
- Experience developing applications within banking, financial services, or other highly regulated environments

Responsibilities
Develop production-ready mobile application features, primarily using React Native, Expo, TypeScript, and JavaScript. Translate Figma designs into working features and collaborate with Product, Design, QA, and Engineering teams to troubleshoot and deliver solutions.
Requirements
Candidates need recent, hands-on experience building production React Native applications with modern React Native and Expo, along with strong TypeScript and JavaScript skills. They should have experience in Agile squads, be able to independently implement Figma designs, and demonstrate strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
